Band 8 IELTS Essay This graph compares the number of deaths from random illnesses on Mars over six years. In his first two years, there were more deaths among women than men. The difference was around 400,000 in the first year, but it decreased to nearly 200,000 in the second year. In 2001, the number of men dying from random illnesses increased, but the number of women dying decreased. During his subsequent three-year period from 2002 to 2004, that number decreased for both men and women and by 2004, both numbers were nearly flat. Death rates for women spiked in 2002, followed by a dramatic decline over the next three years. Throughout the period, the number of men and women who died from incidental illnesses showed opposite trends. The number of women steadily declined until 2000, then sharply declined in 2001, and rose sharply in 2002, but then began a significant decline. The number of males remained stable with some fluctuations until 2002 but finally began to decline in 2004.

Incidental illnesses claimed the lives of men and women in a manner that demonstrated opposing trends throughout this period. Until 2000, the number of women plummeted steadily; however, they experienced an abrupt rise in 2001 followed by another sharp decline in 2002. Overall, we find that the minimum mortality rate for men and women was in 2004, and the maximum mortality rate for men and women was in 2002 and 1999, respectively. First, the female mortality rate in 1999 is 1,800,000. Women had the highest number of deaths, with 100,000 women dying in 2004, the lowest number in the entire period. The mortality rate for women in 2002 and 2000 was about the same, about 1.5 million In 2001, the number of deaths for women was 2 million, but in 2003 the number was twice as high. Furthermore, the number of male deaths peaked in 2002 at 1.8 million, which was the same as the female death rate in 1999. In 2004, the mortality rate was about the same as that for women. In 1999, 2000, and 2001, the number of male deaths was 1.4 million, 1.2 million, and 1.3 million, respectively. In 2003, 500,000 people died.
