Topic: Below is a map of the city of Brandfield. City planners have decided to build a new shopping mall for the area, and two sites, S1 and S2 have been proposed. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Band 6.5 Answer

The graphic shows the proposed layout of Brandfield and two potential locations for a brand-new mall, designated as S1 and S2, respectively. The primary distinction between the two sites is that the first site is close to a residential area, whereas S2 is next to an industrial region. S1 is the initial site, and it's close to the city center in the north.

Between the city's heart and the spot that compromises its southern border, the railroad travels. The southern boundary of S1 is bordered by the river, which flows through the heart of the city in a north-to-south direction. S1's proximity to the residences, which are west of S1, may be an advantage. The major road also runs through S1, the region where the planned shopping complex will be located, to the north, where it crosses the river. The second potential location, S2, is situated farther away from residential areas than S1, as opposed to S1. It is positioned just outside the city's southernmost boundary. The main road is on the west side, and the train is to the northeast of the S2, giving it the advantage of being close to transportation hubs. Along with it, the S2's northeastern border also has an industrial zone.

Band 7 Answer

The map shows designs for two potential locations for a shopping center in the city of Brandfield. The two locations under consideration are located in the north (S1) and southeast (S2) of the town, as may be seen (S2). Furthermore, S1 is near a residential area, whereas S2 is only a short distance south of an industrial sector.

S1, the initial potential location for the mall, is located just north of the city's center. It is above the railroad that connects the city's south and northeastern sides. If it is constructed here, it will be close to a sizable residential neighborhood. It will make it convenient for residents of both the neighborhood and the city center to access. Additionally, it will be close to the river that flows through the town. While the location in the southeast (S2) is once more right next to a railroad and relatively close to the city center. It is closer to an industrial estate than it is to a neighborhood with homes. The city's major thoroughfare is close to both places, allowing for convenient access to either place by vehicle. Last but not least, this location cannot be used because of a sizable park and golf course to the west of the town.

Band 7.5 Answer

The accompanying map shows the two potential locations for the development of a new mall in the city of Brandfield. They are designated as s1 and s2, respectively, by the city planners. To begin with, the proposed location will be erected near the city's northern outskirts. In addition to being close to a housing area and bordered in all four directions by a river, a railway, and a road.

This location is also not too far from a golf course and a park but is still somewhat removed from the city center. Moving on to s2, it is suggested that it be built in the southeast area of the map, with quick access to both the road and rail networks. In contrast to S1, it is significantly closer to the Industrial State, and many residents of the City Center will profit from this site. In contrast to S1, S2 is located further away from the Golf and Park area. In general, the building of s1 appears to be a simple alternative for the residents of the housing area and the city center. But s2 appears to be a better choice for the residents of the Industrial State. In addition, due to its distance from the river, S2 is safer from potential natural disasters like floods.
