Topic: Many students have to study subjects which they do not like. Some people think this is a complete waste of time. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Model Answer 1:

Many people argue that studying subjects that are disliked by the students are simply a waste of time and energy. However, in my opinion, this is completely wrong.

Each subject taught at the school level has its own importance and is necessary for the future development of the students. The Education Board ratifies the school syllabus while bearing in mind the holistic growth and development of each student. The approved syllabus is prepared in such a way that it helps and assists the students in pursuing their chosen field of interest in the future. For example, having good knowledge regarding the science subjects at the primary level inspires the students to pursue the medical or engineering field in the future.

The students must always be encouraged to study all subjects at the school level as they might not be able to decide upon a suitable career and its related subjects at such a young age. For example, a student might want to make a career in the medical field but fails to make the right choice of subjects to be studied at the school level. In such a scenario, the future of the student gets affected.

At present, the world has become highly competitive. Therefore, it is really important for the students to have a sound knowledge regarding all the subjects being taught at the school level. This greatly improves their chances of getting employed by the high-profile companies. Moreover, knowledge on various subjects makes the individual more skilled and thus, an efficient multi-tasker. These abilities are greatly valued by the recruiters of several companies. In conclusion, it can be said that studying numerous subjects at the school level proves to be of immense help to the students in the future. It not only broadens their scope of knowledge but also increases their employment opportunities in the future.

Model Answer 2:

Various subjects are taught to the students at the school level. However, all these subjects are not equally enjoyed by the students. Many people believe it to be a complete waste of time. In my opinion, this is absolutely correct. My reasons for the same are elaborated in the following paragraphs.

In order to cope with the highly competitive world of the 21st century, the schools have overburdened the students by teaching them various subjects. Many students might find these subjects to be dull and boring. As a result, several students might fail to fully absorb the contents of these subjects. However, if these subjects were to be removed, the students would be able to concentrate more on subjects that they found interesting and thus, make a career out of it in the future. For example, if a student likes to study Biology, then, it is highly probable that the student would make a future career in the medical field.

Many students find studying several subjects at the school level to be quite a tedious and exhausting task. As a result, they fail to find enough free time to follow their true passion or interest. If the students could study fewer subjects, they would be able to utilize their free time in learning soft skills, for example, public speaking, communication and time management. These skills, undoubtedly, are greatly valued by the recruiters and would help the students to land a good job in the future.

Moreover, if the students are constantly forced to study subjects that they detest, they might feel overburdened or stressed. As a result, some students might commit suicide or fall prey to depression.

In conclusion, it can be said that students should be less pressured to study all subjects. They should be encouraged to only study subjects that they find interesting. This would greatly improve their creative abilities and make them more passionate or excited about their work.

Model Answer 3:

Many people argue that studying numerous subjects at the school level is a complete waste of time. However, in my opinion, this is not true and my reasons for such a notion has been explained in the following paragraphs.

Studying a wide range of subjects at the school level is very important as it helps in the overall development of the students. It helps them to enrich their knowledge and thus, become self-sufficient. Nowadays, the high-end companies mostly hire candidates that are able to multi-task and possess a sound knowledge regarding all subjects that are taught at the school level. Thus, these students get easily employed. For example, recruiters normally hire candidates that are skilled in numerous fields as they are more capable of finding solutions to numerous problems by using their knowledge. On the other hand, the students who do not possess ample knowledge regarding different subjects or are not capable of multitasking have a hard time finding a suitable job for themselves. For example, Apple only hires candidates that have proficiency in different languages, in programming, history, mathematics and general knowledge.

In order to gain expertise in the desired subjects, it is very necessary to have knowledge about the different subjects related to it. For example, in order to become a doctor, the student must possess a thorough knowledge of Biology. However, in order to gain a better understanding of the subject, it is also necessary to have a sound knowledge regarding different chemicals. Hence, knowledge about Chemistry becomes paramount in such a case.

It can be concluded by saying that all subjects taught at the school level are important for the holistic development of the students. The knowledge from these subjects is indispensable and would surely help the students, in some way or the other, in the future.
