Topic: Many high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 per cent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women. To what extent do you agree?

Despite the fact that half of the workforce in many developed countries is made up of women, men often hold most executive-level positions. The problem has sparked a range of responses from the business community. Some contend that businesses need to provide preference to women for these jobs, but this essay rejects that idea. In the course of this essay, the author will take a strong position and support it with convincing arguments.

Today, regardless of gender, everyone exercises their entitlement to an education. In addition, everyone is given an equal chance to advance their careers. Additionally, a lot of social and political barriers for women have been removed. The circumstances have changed. They are now able to be heard. Women are steadily climbing the corporate ladder, despite the fact that their colleagues hold the majority of high-level positions.

In addition, it would be unfair to both men and women who have succeeded in carving out successful careers. If corporations assigned a specific proportion of high-level positions to women. There are many women who hold important positions in politics. They are capable of doing their tasks and obligations in a dignified manner. This is as a result of the women's abilities and qualifications for the jobs they occupy.

However, the author believes that everyone should compete on the basis of their abilities and merits, not only their gender. Top positions should go to the most qualified applicant, regardless of gender. Gender discrimination should not exist because everyone is treated equally under the law. In actuality, women are capable of competing with men on an equal footing. Therefore, if a person is eligible for an executive-level position, he or she can play top positions whether they are male or female.

In conclusion, companies shouldn't set aside a specific percentage of high-level positions for women. Only talent and qualifications should be prioritized and thought of as superior when filling top posts.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Over the past few decades, gender disparity in the workplace has been a source of worry. Especially in terms of a company's leadership. While some people think that corporations should be forced by law to set aside some seats on their boards for women. Others do not think that this will be in the best interests of either women or businesses. In the next section, I'll go through some of the key points each of those groups makes. And explain why I tend to lean toward the latter.

The strongest proponents of the idea that corporations should be required to hire more women in higher positions are those who favor women's rights. Without such a requirement, they contend, market-based male decision-makers will continue to favor their male coworkers patriarchally. There are far too few women in senior positions in businesses than males, according to a number of recent gender equality surveys.

There is a significant gender difference in managerial roles, according to some economists and business owners. But the figures also show that the gap has been progressively closing over the past few years. suggesting that given the current business conditions, talented women are entering company leadership positions at a higher rate. Forcing businesses to appoint unqualified women to their boards of directors. Runs the risk of damaging the perception of a female leader and will not ultimately benefit women.

In conclusion, even though I generally concur that women need some form of government assistance to reduce the gender gap in corporate leadership. I do not believe that requiring businesses to increase the number of women on their boards is the most efficient method to do it. Governments have much superior tools at their disposal, such as tax exemptions. Which, when implemented properly, might offer a much more long-lasting solution to this issue.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Today, there are more women working than men in many countries. However, there aren't many women in managerial roles. Thus, some contend that a specific percentage of senior level jobs should be kept for women. This is not a workable answer in my opinion because it will neither help women nor the businesses that hire them.

No one benefits when positions are reserved based on gender. Because there are positions designated for them, it will ensure that women can quickly advance up the corporate ladder. Unfortunately, this will deter them from working hard or pursuing higher education. Girls should be taught at a young age that they too can become a manager or a CEO. If they so want because the opportunities are available regardless of their genders, rather than holding reserved seats for women.

Furthermore, enforcing a quota will just spur businesses to come up with new ways to game the system. To simply fill a vacancy, for instance, a corporation may change the title of a position. Because of these factors, women do not profit when positions or jobs are earmarked for them at work.

In contrast, it's critical for the business to be able to hire the top applicant for the positions. The most talented people will rise to the top if there are no gender-based quotas in place. Furthermore, businesses with a good track record tend to hire the greatest candidates for the right jobs. As a result, the company will have more opportunities accessible to it, and it will be able to hire more people including women to fill the new openings. It is clear from this that the best way to guarantee gender equality at work is not to reserve managerial positions for women.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that businesses should be able to hire people based on their qualifications. Not their gender, as forcing them to hire more women solely to comply with the law would only result in more harm than good.
