Band 7 IELTS Essay
Currently, a lot of families are moving to industrialised nations in quest of "greener pastures". It has led to a huge adjustment in terms of both the weather and the completely different cultures. Although some people think that sending their children to live abroad will be tough for them, others think that doing so will be advantageous for them. I completely agree that moving to another developed nation is a way for parents to ensure their children's future. In the event that a youngster is unable to acclimatise, changing environments could have negative effects. To be more specific, a child's capacity for adaptability is less developed than an adult's. As a result, both mental and physical health are significantly impacted when a youngster travels to a nation that is similar to their own. For instance, a study by Oxford University shows that even if international schoolchildren have the capacity to perform well on tests, they struggle to do so. This happens due to culture shock. As a result, family migration causes significant setbacks in the lives of teenagers. Despite the plausible perception that children will have trouble adjusting to a new setting, developed nations have a wealth of counselling services. These services make it simple for kids to make friends in a foreign place. They will unquestionably benefit from this after they learn to adapt. Because they will have access to a cutting-edge environment for learning, playing, and other activities. It would be beneficial for a child's career if he or she had the opportunity to attend classes at a top-tier school, college, or university exclusively. Because of the relocation of their parents. Therefore, moving to a foreign country has unquestionably good effects for children's lives and careers. In summary, it is true that adjusting to a new environment is challenging, but by developing your ability to adapt, you can gain from the developed world. Finally, I support the position that migrating abroad would provide better opportunities.
Band 7.5 IELTS Essay
It is the right of every person to decide where they want to live. Most people wish to live in a country that offers them security and good financial security. While it might be good for the adults to think and decide in that direction, children might have other views. In this essay, I am going to state the advantages and disadvantages of settling overseas and offer my opinion on the same.
The major reason for immigrating overseas is the quality of life it offers. The money that is paid for any job is good and no matter what job an individual does, nobody judges them as work is viewed as just a source of income, not reputation.
For example, when my cousin’s father relocated to Canada, he was a cab driver. He earned well and lived a decent life while in India he earned a meagre amount and was judged harshly by his neighbours. A well-developed nation does not bias between two jobs as it realises the importance of both.More money would mean a good education for children and thereby ensure a good future for them. They are exposed to different languages and their cognitive development is more than what it could have been in their home country.
However, some people believe that immigrating to a new country impacts children as they lose touch with their culture and often feel isolated. This is true to some extent as in the initial years, children struggle to adapt to the new environment around them. But it also guarantees that once they adapt, they become well-groomed and have knowledge of cultures of both worlds.
Shifting overseas offers more than what people believe it takes. In my opinion, maybe the migrators feel a disconnect or long for their homeland but in the modern world where everyone is just a video-call away, that yearning to be around their extended family gets fulfilled and therefore more families should settle overseas to give their children a better quality of life.
Band 8 IELTS Essay
In the current times, there is a shift that has been observed. With the advancement in transportation, people can travel to different parts of the world within just a few hours. Immigrating to another country in search of a better quality of life is the new trend. In this essay, I am going to discuss the impact both positive and negative that relocating abroad causes for the children.
Children are joyful by birth. All they need is an environment that interacts with them and recognizes their presence. It doesn’t much bother them if the environment is offered to them in their homeland or a foreign country. Many families that have shifted to foreign countries have witnessed that their children have become sharper over time as the new environment makes them explore and discover things that they would have been devoid of in their homeland. As most of the shift is towards a well-developed nation from the lesser ones, the families find a better education system for their children. They develop well in all domains whether it is cognitive, affective or psychomotor. The clean air and food add more to their overall wellness.
But many believe that relocating overseas is not much useful as children find it difficult to adjust to a foreign land that has a very different culture than their own. Due to a completely different education system, the children fail to perform and their grades deteriorate. Language becomes a barrier. However, I do not agree with this notion as children are extremely flexible and it is easier for them to adapt than adults. They can easily make friends, learn a new language and adapt to environmental change, unlike adults.
Everyone has the right to choose a better life for their families and children mostly feel excited to explore a new nation as long as they are around their loved ones. Therefore, in my opinion, families who wish to move overseas for job opportunities should not stress over if their actions will have a negative impact on their children.
