Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

One of the major practical, professional, and social obstacles faced by expats is the language barrier. In certain cases, this obstacle is so great that it makes it difficult for many individuals to integrate and hold down a job. There is no disputing that those who are living abroad and don't speak the language are the hardest affected by this, which can cause aggravation and occasionally have an impact on their wellbeing.
First of all, immigrants who cannot speak or comprehend the local language are unable to comprehend local customs and cultures, which causes social issues. They barely interact with locals and are unaware of the country's rich range of cultures. They even fail to understand the laws and the emotions that individuals experience under particular conditions as a result. Because the newly arrived immigrants do not speak the local language, the immigration boom in many European nations, for instance, leads to societal issues. The language barrier sometimes leads to misunderstandings, social problems, discriminatory behaviour, and, on occasion, violent responses and racism. The migrants then isolate themselves from others and grow hostile to other locals and residents.

Additionally, immigrants find it more difficult to navigate without the use of a map, read crucial notices, order food off a menu, ask a local for assistance, and, most critically, handle a job when they don't speak the language. A language barrier, according to many immigrants, is the major reason they cannot find work. It seems sense that a company would prefer to hire someone who can speak with the local population. This results in several inescapable practical issues when one does not speak the language.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

In recent times, individuals have increasingly adapted to migration. Migration is being carried out for the purpose of education and job opportunities. However, a number of individuals are reluctant to migrate as they lack the skill to converse in a foreign language. Lack of these skills will lead to a number of challenges such as practical and social issues. Regardless of such barriers, people are still able to connect with others and carry out conversations in foreign languages due to the advancements in technology.

This essay will discuss and highlight statements that support the given argument. According to me, knowledge with respect to foreign is a necessity in today’s era. First and foremost, in order to settle in a foreign country with the presence of a different language system, will lead to a number of different challenges in the long run. This has become a trend in the current era. In accordance with this, local people are welcoming towards international visitors or immigrants and further help them as much as possible. People globally come across a few aspects of the social culture such as in public gatherings or parties. When individual moves to a country such as the UK, US, Australia, etc. they are required to justify their language skills in the regional language. Moreover, individuals can rely upon technological aspects such as Google Translators and Maps. These have led to the eradication of the communication approach of individuals asking for directions. Nevertheless, technology cannot rescue individuals from the remote parts of the world as there is a lack of network connectivity. Thus, in order to conclude there are a number of common social issues that can lead to a number of challenges within their lifestyle.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Regional languages play an important role in the functioning of any region. Thus, being a foreigner and living abroad leads individuals to deal with a number of situations in both the form of social and practical approaches. I completely agree with this aspect. The essay will proceed to highlight the argumentative statements that support this notion of mine. Vernacular is critical in managing and enraging the economic growth of a country. It can be addressed to the fact that all the local shops and their vendors are comfortable in their native language.

Thus, in order to survive, one must be aware of the native language of a given region. For example, according to a poll performed by the British Government, companies prefer applicants who are strong with soft skills, regardless of whether or not they are good with technical abilities, which is only an add-on to their résumé. The opportunities, however, were for key technical positions. Humans are social creatures that rely on others for emotional well-being. Furthermore, in order to socialize, we must interact with others on a daily basis, and soft skills have always been a crucial component of communication. So, if we are not comfortable with it, we will be unable to communicate our views to those around us, which may have an effect on both our public and private lives. Foreign language education, in my opinion, is a requirement in today's world. To begin with, settling in a foreign nation with a different linguistic system will provide a variety of obstacles in the long term. In the modern day, this has become fashionable. As a result, locals are hospitable to overseas tourists or immigrants and go out of their way to assist them as much as possible. To conclude with my opinion, it is evident from the above argument that one must be aware of speaking the native language of a given location. Lack of knowledge associated with speaking a foreign language will lead to a number of challenges both in the form of finance and emotions.
