The number of violent crimes committed in the US over a 22-year period is shown in the provided line graph.

The second season of the twentieth century saw significant shifts in the violent crime rate overall. The overall amount of violent crime did, however, decline by the century's end.

In 1978, there were 3.5 violent crimes per 1,000 Americans, and 2.3 victimization-related incidents were recorded to the police. There were fewer than a thousand criminals in the records, but only about 3,000 infractions were dealt with in the US.

The overall rate of violent crime spiked after ten years to a peak of 4.5 offenses before falling by 1.5 to 3,000 offenses in 2000. Although victimization statistics originally fluctuated slightly, they decreased to little around 1.5 offenses starting in 1988. Regarding reported crimes, there was a steady increase over the course of the 22-year period. Reaching a peak of over 0.5 in 1994 and hovering around 1.5 offenses during the following six years.The arrests for crimes was 0.5 at the end of year 2000. People are scared generally to report a crime because it threatens their security. The victimization reports were the highest at 2.5 in the year 1982. While the arrests for these crimes are not even above 1 thousand offenses. This becomes an increasing factor of crimes. The criminals are more free and unafraid of being caught. Moving to the year 200. The total crimes were 3 housand offenses. Victimization reported was 1.5 thousand offenses. The crimes reported and recorded by the police was also near about 1.5 thousand offenses. While the shameful factor is the number of arrests. There were just 0.5 thousand offenses criminals arrested after the year 2000. It Will boost the confidence of criminals, making them commit even more crimes.
