Topic: Lifestyle and culture of different countries are becoming similar. Is it a positive development or negative?

Band 7 IELTS Essay

People's habits and ways of living around the world are becoming more similar in recent years. Despite the fact that this tendency has a detrimental impact on tourism, I think it's a good thing because it fosters cross-cultural exchange.

The fall in tourism as a result of the similarity in people's cultures and lifestyles is one of the frequently mentioned negative effects of this development. The necessity to go to other nations in order to experience their customs. And culture has diminished as individuals around the world now consume nearly identical foods and dress similarly. Because they now only visit historical places and are less intrigued by the foods and clothing of many Nigerians. Who are similar to them, tourism to that country has decreased. For instance, in recent decades. Consequently, the similarity of many nations' lifestyles has harmed tourism.

However, one benefit of today's widespread resemblance in way of life and culture is that it improves interactions between individuals. People from different nations now have a lot in common, making it simple for them to communicate and advance trade. For instance, unlike a few decades ago, many Africans can today live comfortably in Europe and are no longer bewildered by the way of life of the Europeans. This, in my opinion, is a significant development as a result of integrating individuals from different cultures into our way of life.

The fact that this progress has enlarged our horizons and had such a positive influence on our society is equally significant. We can use the example of an Iphone, which is produced in America, put together in China, and sold all over the world, to demonstrate this. Every country has access to technical professionals for repair and maintenance, and the bulk of them are nationals of that nation. In addition to lowering unemployment, it is strengthening the economies of these states.

In conclusion, even if many nations' shared cultures and ways of life have a detrimental impact on tourism. I believe it is a positive development because it has facilitated better global relationships.

Because individuals may purchase the same goods anywhere in the world. It is true that the lives and cultures of other nations are becoming more and more likable in comparison to the past. In my opinion, any nation will experience benefits and drawbacks from this tendency.

On the one hand, I'll provide some arguments to show the advantages of nations that are much more like other nations than they were in the past. First off, it can foster close ties between people all across the world. For instance, two friends from different countries with similar cultures can readily exchange ideas since they have a lot in common. Such as a love of cuisine or technology. It can therefore close the distance between them. Second, it lessens the challenges that people typically have when adjusting to a new environment.

To be more precise, many students decide to study abroad in order to expand their knowledge. And feel more at home because they may consume their native foods wherever they live.

On the other hand, this inclination has a number of negative aspects. First off, globalization, which makes the globe seem like a small village, frequently results in the erasure of traditions and variety in many nations.

I believe that in order to preserve the unique characteristics of each nation. As was the case in Thailand when transsexual men and women participated in transgender model exhibitions. Additionally, exposure to inappropriate cultures by the younger generation can result in undesirable behavior. For instance, more and more Indians are adopting western culture, especially the way of life. And as a result, they are dressing in western-style clothing that is inappropriate for an Islamic nation.

In conclusion, I predict that the shared cultures of numerous nations will have both beneficial and bad consequences on the localities.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

The entire world has become a global village where information can instantly go from one part of the planet to another. Because of advancements in communication technologies. The globe is getting more and more similar as a result of this information symmetry and accessibility. Some claim that this is a detrimental development. There is, in my perspective, obviously a need to protect diversity, even though I don't entirely see this as being wholly negative.

The loss of indigenous culture, traditions, customs, and lifestyles is the main justification for opposing the tendency of nations to become more similar. These ways of living and cultures were created over many millennia and are appropriate for the respective nation. As a result, people who reside in that country might not find it appropriate to imitate the habits and cultures of other nations. For instance, it is preferable to consume vegetarian food and dress in cotton in a hot nation like India.

Additionally, it is unsustainable if everyone adopts the same way of life. For instance, the amount of fossil fuels consumed per person in the USA is 20 times greater than the amount consumed per person in a developing nation. We will soon run out of energy if everyone starts using the same amount of it everywhere.

The promotion of diversity is also important since it fosters innovation. One can view the world from various cultural and lifestyle perspectives. In order to enhance the learning environment, many schools and universities aim to boost diversity in the classroom. In the past, numerous pharmaceutical research teams in the USA. Credited crucial contributions made by team members of other nationalities for their accomplishments.

On the other side, one can safeguard themselves from discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, or clothing style by adopting similarities. Similarity also promotes acceptance. Additionally, it makes life simpler, particularly for those who travel abroad.

In conclusion, taking into account the aforementioned points of view, in my opinion it is important to preserve the diversity of many nations. But there is also no harm in absorbing the finest practices of other nations.
