Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Shasana,

How are you? We hope you enjoyed celebrating your friend's wedding with other friends. Sorry for the last minute response. An emergency occurred on the same day. You know that I am looking for a job outside India. While preparing for the reception, a sudden call from YouGov--a British company--interrupted me. During the phone interview, I inquired about my professional experience and his recently completed projects. Immediately after I finished the order, he requested that I send it to an undisclosed location. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't ignore it. So I started working on his project and it was successfully approved.

Additionally, I received information about an upcoming round of interviews. This phase will encompass inquiries about both technical aspects and human resources. So I look forward to hearing from them. I'm sorry again for not being able to come and contact you. I have a few days off. If you are thinking of meeting, please let me know. We look forward to your visit.

Thank you very much

Dear Graham,

I hope you are well. But most of all, I would like to apologize for not being able to attend the party you organized about a week ago, despite my best efforts and intentions.

And the reason I missed your party is because the day before I was supposed to attend your party, I had to leave town because I needed to spend time with my youngest uncle. By the way, my uncle, who lives and works overseas, recently came to this country on a short trip, completely unexpectedly, and before leaving town he asked me to accompany him and sing in the choir.

I thought I would make it to your party in time, but I got a little too busy with his uncle's trip and helping out with the choir. But of course, I'm free now. Would you like to go camping or fishing with me next weekend? I'm sure it will be just as fun as before.

Regards,
Mike

Band 6 IELTS Letter

Dear Graham,

I hope everything is going well for you. First and foremost, please accept my apology for not being able to attend the party you arranged approximately a week ago - despite exerting maximum effort and having every intention to do so.

I missed your party because I traveled out of town on the scheduled day. The primary reason for my sudden departure was a desire to spend time with my youngest uncle, who incidentally arrived unexpectedly from his life and worked abroad for a short trip. He requested that I accompany him and assist with some tasks before leaving town again; hence, despite this commitment pulling me away from attending your event—I did promise him beforehand—it seemed feasible until recently when everything became quite chaotic due largely to efforts expended in facilitating his travel arrangements along other miscellaneous responsibilities such as running errands or organizing paperwork related thereto.

Naturally, I am currently free; would you be interested in a joint camping and fishing excursion this forthcoming weekend? Rest assured--the experience promises to mirror our previous enjoyment.

Best regards,
Mike
