Letter to Your Friend Letting Them Know About The Gift That You Have Prepared for Them IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are asked to write an informal letter. Dear Adam,

Greetings on your new residence! I hope you've already made yourself at home. I sincerely apologise for being unable to attend your housewarming celebration. And with that, I'm sending you my gift.

As a gift, I created a lovely portrait of you and Cindy. It is 12 by 12 and is oil painted. The frame is made of teakwood. I had intended to give it to you personally, but I will be away for a few weeks. As a result, I couriered it today through Blue Dart, and you should have it in two to three days. I've instructed them to bring it in the evening since you'll both be at work during the day.

You may recall that on our most recent summer vacation to Barbados, I took a photo of you two relaxing on the beach with a stunning sunset in the distance. I chose to paint it because I know that's your favourite image from that trip. You can hang the artwork in your living room, and I'm sure it will make you feel happier.
