Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Robert,

It feels very sad to hear about the news of your father. Pamela and the children also send their thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.

Although I did not know your father well, in the half dozen times I worked with his company over many years, I realized his great kindness and compassion for those less fortunate and luckier than you.

And I know that he is highly respected in this community and in this profession, and his good works have changed the lives of many people. You are truly lucky to have such a man as a role model in your life. As you know, my father passed away not long ago.

So I know what you and your family are going through. There is no comfort enough to make up for the loss. My deepest condolences to your mother, brothers and sisters, as well as to all of your father's grandchildren.

Yours Truly,
Srija Halder

Dear Snehajit,

On the death of your father, please accept my sincere condolences. Furthermore, my parents expressed their condolences to my pal. Your father's death has profoundly shocked both of them and me. We fervently pray for the eternal rest of their souls. Your father's departure initiated a prolonged period of non-communication between us.

Yesterday, a mutual friend conveyed to me the news of your father's passing due to COVID-19. You and your family may encounter significant challenges during this time; however, do not allow your morale to falter. Dear one, we stand alongside you--remember: these dark days will also dissipate. Such a gem of a person was your father, truly possessing an innately kind heart. On one occasion, I recall losing money; however, he extended his generosity by providing me with the necessary funds to pay my exam fee. In times of emergency, he extends his aid to those in distress; it is this selflessness that engenders our collective admiration--we all deeply appreciate him. You, indeed, are blessed: possessing such a father is an undeniable stroke of fortune. No replacement for your loss exists: nothing can fill the void left behind.

You, your mother and your brother have my deepest condolences. As soon as possible, I shall visit you, and please don’t hesitate to mail me for any kind of help.
