Letter to the Local Council for Establishing Leisure Facilities for Young People IELTS Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. The letter follows a formal approach. The candidate has to address the local council in regards to lack of leisure activities. Mention the problem, suggest recommendations and how the leisure activity facilities will help. Band 7 IELTS Letter

Respected Sir/ Madam,

In this letter, I am writing this letter to put your immediate attention on the lack of leisure activities in our locality. I urge the local government to build a recreation center where kids can play sports and socialize.

Our community's youth have trouble playing sports or exercising regularly because there isn't a recreation center nearby. There have been many surveys conducted to check the endurance and physical fitness of the children of our locality. Unfortunately as per surveys only 50% children are physically fit and others are having health problems. Also, obesity is commonly fpun in the children of our locality. All this is because of the lack of physical fitness places like playgrounds and gyms. There is no play club or even a park.

In the near future, the council ought to provide funding for recreational amenities like a basketball court or a swimming pool. Buildings, in my opinion, ought to be put in close proximity to the downtown central park and public schools.

Adolescents would be encouraged to regularly engage in physical activity and sports as a result. Thus, the community may encourage youth to lead healthy lifestyles and increase public knowledge of the benefits of regular exercise. Respected Sir/ Madam,

I'm writing to call your attention to the lack of kid-friendly activity options in the Cloud’s Colony.

Many young people are having issues since there aren't many recreation centers in the area. As a result, they are forced to travel to a nearby town to play sports or spend their free time indoors watching television.

I would like to suggest that the state government build a recreation facility around our colony and the town. It costs the travel costs to travel to another town for leisure activities. There are no swimming pools, playgrounds or even parks. There are no rides for the kids. This also makes kids lethargic and overuse of technology. Instead of playing outside, kids prefer to sit at home and play video games. This stops their physical growth. Children Have a smaller height nowadays which is due to low physical activities. Obesity is common in kids.

I would like to suggest the construction of playgrounds, Basketball courts and swimming pools around the town. It Will save our travel costs to go to other towns. Also, it will promote wellness and physical wellbeing.

I hope my suggestions will be taken into consideration and immediate action will be taken.

I'm writing to draw your immediate attention to the dearth of recreational opportunities in our area. I implore the local authorities to construct a leisure facility so that youth can engage in sports and social activities.

Youth in our town struggle to participate in organized sports or routinely exercise because there isn't a leisure center close by. Students often face health problems and their eyesight is affected due to over use of technologies. They just sit at home and watch television. Or they play video games which stop their cognitive growth. They lack physical strength and endurance. The cases of obesity and depression are also the result of lack of physical exercises.

I suggest the construction of playgrounds and swimming pools. This will not just benefit the younger generation but also benefit the older people.As exercise and physical fitness is essential for older people as well. Playground will ensure the people have a walk which will keep them fit. I Hope my suggestion will be considered. This would motivate young people to regularly engage in physical activity and sports. Teenagers will abandon their unhealthy lifestyle and broaden their social circle by making new friends, helping the community create a healthy city. Looking forward to your reply.
