Model Answer 1

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a devoted reader of your newspaper. I am writing to express my disapproval of an article on a documentary movie about the growth of tourism in Yun Nan province that was published on April 28th.

The director of this movie emphasised or displayed the customs and culture of a well-known town in that region called Qunijing. The peasants maintain the way of life that their Ming Dynasty forefathers did. They don't utilise electricity or equipment, and all work is done by hand.

You questioned this in your post and suggested that the filmmaker may have made something up. In truth, this village has been cut off from the outside world for almost 600 years, as I personally witnessed when I visited two years ago. Your essay will harm the reputation of the film's directors in addition to misleading tourists.

Since I believe your article's readers are devotees of traditional Chinese history, I believe they will find this movie to be particularly admirable. Viewers who watch it and observe those people's lifestyles can learn more about traditional Chinese culture. I sincerely hope you can amend the issue in a subsequent article, and I appreciate you putting my proposal under consideration.

Sincerely,
Daniel Smith

Dear Sir/Madam,

I frequently read your newspaper. I'm writing to express my disagreement with a January 8th article about the crime/thriller film "The Usual Suspects."

After being brought together in a police lineup, five professional criminals who have grandiose ambitions are the subject of the movie. They are stopped in their tracks, though, by a mysterious figure by the name of Kaiser Sose. He intends to kill all five of the criminals since they have all done something to offend him in the past. A high level of tension is maintained throughout thanks to incredibly original writing and sharp direction.

In your piece, you made the point that the plot was just too convoluted for the reader to follow. Additionally, it would have been more convincing if the antagonist had been identified in the first half alone. I disagree with your viewpoint, though. The movie keeps viewers glued to their screens until the very end. Right from the start, this movie includes a twist in the plot. Then comes the twist, which blows your mind and explains all your suspicions.

So I feel your article's viewers will find this film particularly admirable. I genuinely hope you can address the matter in a later article, and I appreciate you taking my suggestion into account.

Sincerely,
Johnson.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I read your newspaper frequently. I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with a March 8th article. It was a crime/drama about a young woman who, after being tricked and sold to a brothel.

In this film, the director has made an effort to emphasise the struggles and way of life of women who live in a red light district. The red-light district, where the majority of the film's running time takes place, is depicted in the movie on a complex set.

In your piece, you make the point that the movie is unremarkable except for the magnificent set. However, I believe the actual content of the movie goes beyond an opulent set. The movie addresses a societal issue and calls for an end to the hypocrisy of a culture that condones sex labour while mocking it.

An optimistic attitude regarding the movie's portrayal of society's hypocrisy can have an impact and I believe you can make an impact through your article. Viewers who watch it and observe those people's lifestyles can understand more about their society while also putting an end to the ridicule. I genuinely hope you can fix the problem in a subsequent post, and I appreciate you taking my suggestion into account.

Sincerely,
Katherine
