Dear Madam,

My name is Max, and as of the start of the following semester, I will be enrolled at your university as a non-resident student. Your recent decision to grant me admission to your college has given me tremendous pleasure. I am aware that your university will provide housing and food for all international students. So I figured it would be best to let you know in advance what my housing needs and dietary preferences are. The first thing I want is to lodge in a sole - occupancy unit, ideally in a non-smoking area in one of the student residences. In addition, I would appreciate an air conditioning unit and an attached bathroom in my room. For the convenience of not having to go far to do my laundry, it would be nice if there were some washing facilities on the hostel grounds. In terms of my nutrition, I am primarily accustomed to Asian and Italian dishes that include rice, soups, veggies, spaghetti, and noodles. However, if my chosen accommodations and diets are not offered at any of your hostels, I would not mind staying in a single-bedroom apartment. But, the room should be attached with a kitchen as long as it is close to my university's campus and within my price range. I'll be expecting your response soon.

It is a blissful opportunity for me that with great endeavors, I have been able to secure a seat at St John’s College this year. Although, this admission is making me curious and nervous at the same time. I am curious to come to a totally new place and my education with such great personalities of educators but what I am worried about is my accommodation in the UK. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to study in your college and I am hoping to have an amazing four years of Engineering at your College.

I am writing this to you to confirm my place in the Hall of Residence at your college with certain specified requirements to whatever extent you will be able to fulfill them. My family will shift with me after six to seven months. Therefore, I need accommodation only for that time period. Although there are no special requests that I might make excessively considering that I would require the accommodation for a few months. In terms of food requirements, I prefer both vegetarian and non – vegetarian food, so no specific demand in that case. But it would be great if you could provide me with a single room, I shall not prefer sharing the room with anyone or more people. I am not quite comfortable in sharing my space and I also kind of get distracted in terms of my studies whem someone else is present with me in my room. Hence, a single room is what I shall request for. Along with this a cupboard and bookshelf would do for me since I love reading books so I have a huge bundle with me, therefore a proper place for them would help me in their organization.

Taking some suitable room in the Hall of Residence would allow me to assimilate with the prevailing culture there and I would be able to enhance my communication and social network in that case. Albeit, consider the priority as a single room, rest might be adjusted accordingly. Hoping to hear from you soon and I shall be highly obliged if you could consider these requirements smoothly.

I just now received the letter from your college that I have been offered a place at the same under one of the fellowships' programs. First of all, thanks a lot for considering me an asset for your college and providing me with such an immense opportunity to pursue my further studies at your highly renowned and reputed college.

We all are aware of the emerging outrage of the pandemic worldwide and the downtrodden and unprecedented conditions it has caused to humanity. I am extremely blessed to have gained this opportunity to study at your college but considering the contemporary situations, it would be a great help if you could offer me a place at your Hall of Residence. It is completely fine with me with the payment of any required amount of fee for the same but the amenities shall be proper and considerable. I would be shifting to some flat after the situations are under control. I am ready to share my room with two or three girls, preferably not anyone of the opposite gender.

Also, at the same time I would not like to invest myself in the cooking, therefore, kindly grant me the place which already has some mess facility. This would seriously help me in not worrying about what to eat and buy everyday hence, having a mess facility would be great. If the place would be properly ventilated along with the air-conditioned facility, then it would relieve my burden to some extent. Please look into these requirements because it will definitely help me a lot to adjust to a new college and a completely new city in these tough times of outrageous coronavirus.
