Band 6.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir,

This is Joe, and I'm writing to discuss the meeting that I missed last Tuesday. I'm sorry I was unable to join the meeting you had on Tuesday morning with our client at our office, but let me explain why it happened. I'm sorry I couldn't attend the product talk also.

Despite the fact that we had been working on the presentation since last week, I am aware of how important the meeting was; nonetheless, I was unable to attend. I had an accident, which is why I was unable to attend the meeting. My car struck another vehicle that was attempting to pass me on the highway while I was driving to the office. Thankfully, there were no significant injuries in the crash, but I had to wait while the police questioned me about my documentation. I have scheduled a meeting review with Sarah Jose, who was also in attendance that day because I am aware of how important the meeting is to our organisation. I could expedite the adjustments the client requests in this manner. And I'll make sure everything runs properly during future meetings with the client. I eagerly anticipate your assistance and support in this matter.

Your Sincerely,

Joe

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Madam,

I am sincerely sorry for missing the meeting that was arranged for September 8, 2020, and I am writing this letter to apologise. Every employee was required to attend because it was about the restaurant's reopening after a few months of being shuttered. I am aware that you have shown great consideration and kindness to others in addition to myself.

You wanted to let us know about some guidelines and safety considerations to take when performing our duties. The fact that I was unable to attend this meeting was a tremendous error on my behalf. Let me give you the inevitable cause for my absence. One of my neighbours had informed me as I was en route to the meeting that my mother had suffered a significant heart attack. And she was being treated in the hospital. This news hit me like a bolt from the blue, and I decided to go back home. I'm aware that I let you down. I could have told you, but the circumstances prevented me because I was too stressed out and anxious about my mother's condition. You are aware that I have always put my work first and have never disrespected or disobeyed you by acting erratically. Please consider changing the date of the meeting, if possible. Or let me know if there is anything else I can do to make things right and win back your trust. I want to hear from you as soon as possible.

Your Sincerely,

Sarah

Band 7.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my heartfelt regrets for being unable to attend the meeting last Friday, October 3, at 2:00 pm. I am aware that the meeting was crucial for the new project the business is working on. As a member of the management team, I was required to attend, but I was unable to do so.

Please take into account my statement that I was heading back to the office that day after lunch when my automobile broke down. I called a mechanic right away, and he informed me that it would take at least two hours to fix this significant defect. I had no alternative but to remain in the car with him because it was impossible for me to leave it on the road. I was unable to arrive at the office on time and missed the meeting as a result. I am quite concerned that without me, the meeting would not have been successful and would not have come to a conclusion. In order to make up for it, I will obtain a copy of the meeting's highlights, add my thoughts to the already-discussed subjects, and create the final draft. Everyone's valuable time will be spared in this way. I hope you'll take my circumstances into account.

Your Sincerely,

Louis
