Band 8 IELTS Letter

Dear Doe,

I was very happy to receive your warm welcome letter two days ago. Thank you for allowing us to stay in a place where you can experience real local life. It would be unkind if I didn't write a letter introducing myself to you and your family. I am her 24 year old student studying at the University of Hong Kong. I am grateful to my professor for encouraging me to visit other countries to gain more great experiences as I continue in my life. When I decided to come to New Zealand for the English language and homestay program, I was very excited, but at the same time I had many questions in mind, such as the weather conditions and the cost of living. I would appreciate it if you could clear up my doubts. I heard that Wellington's weather can be changeable.

So, do you think I should bring more clothes for my 8-week stay?

Also, I need to budget for renovations before I arrive, so how much should I estimate for food and transportation? I'm curious. My plane's arrival is next month, his December 18th. After a seven-hour flight over the Pacific, I was able to sleep before the plane landed at noon. I would appreciate it if you could tell me a better way to get from the airport to my house than by taxi.

Thank you again.

We look forward to your reply.

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Millward,

I extend my wishes for your continued health and wellness through this letter. Allow me to inform you: I have indeed visited your country with a purpose--to engage in the "English Language and Homestay Program."

Me, a graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Media and Communication at the esteemed University of Delhi. It exhilarates me: I will be your guest for a duration of ten days--a period during which, undoubtedly, your grasp on the English language shall ascend to new heights. My impending journey to the country likely marks a significant milestone: it could potentially be my inaugural visit. Kindly, enlighten me about the climate in your country; this information will enable me to tailor my luggage preparation appropriately.

Moreover, I would greatly appreciate your recommendation of educational websites that faithfully depict British culture. To meet all of you, I am filled with a blend of anticipation and unease; yet, excitement prevails above all. My plane from India is scheduled to land in England at 6pm on June 17th. I will likely require an hour to reach your location.

Could you please suggest some affordable travel options originating from the airport?

Regards
Xyz
