Letter To The Local Authority Expressing Disappointment Regarding Construction of a New Airport IELTS Writing Task 1

When I was walking in the park last week, one of my neighbors told me about the plan to build a new air station in our community.

This unpleasant news was broadcast by all local media outlets yesterday, and I should mention that no one in my community is pleased with this plan. In my area, there is a lavish park which is the perfect place for peace and quiet; however, it should be reduced in order to accommodate a new airport.

So you can imagine how disappointed I was when I discovered it. Second, living near an airport requires residents to tolerate all noise from arrivals and departures, which is difficult for the elderly and children. Aside from the negative effects of loud noise, I've heard that airport air pollution has a number of negative consequences for vulnerable people. My house is only 200 kilometers from a local airport. Instead of building a new airport, I believe it would be better to develop an existing local airport. In this case, the local government could benefit and save money. I eagerly await your response.

Furthermore, building an airport takes years, and it may harm the environment due to noise, air pollution, and other factors. Due to some aspects that have been overlooked by the government so far, it is my responsibility to warn about this construction. For starters, there are dozens of schools in the area, which will undoubtedly cause students to be distracted by airplane departures where classes are held. As a result, planes would have a difficult time landing in the area, which would lead to an accident.

To address the above-mentioned public concerns, I thoughtfully address three key points to deal with these issues. First, construction should not begin at midnight. Second, the local government would compensate for any incidents that were harmful to an individual's health. Finally, environmental assessments of the surrounding areas should be performed both before and after construction.

The news was the cover story of yesterday's issue of The Hindu. People in our area are concerned about the same news, and they intend to send a signed petition to the appropriate authorities. Agriculture, horticulture, and other botanical inventions and sales are very popular in our village. Village men come from low-income families and have no other option but to relocate to another location. Aside from that, children attend local schools, and adults spend their retirement years with their families. It may be difficult to relocate to another location in a short period of time. Furthermore, once construction begins, it is difficult to bear various types of pollution such as air, water, and noise.Village officials recommend a highly recommended landscape in the next village, but no one acquires it for other purposes. It could be the exact location for the newly built airport, rather than our countryside, in my opinion.
