Band 7 IELTS Letters

Dear Ninad

I am hoping that you are in the pink of health. I am addressing this letter to you regarding the part time job you have been looking for quite a while now. Thus, this letter comes bearing good news that is I have found one such opportunity for you which I believe you will be interested in.

An uncle in my extended family has decided to finally take the help of technology in order to expand his small business. Therefore, he needs someone to show him the ropes and if possible, assist him part time as the manager of his digital storefront. He isn’t tech savvy and introverted which is why he needs someone he is acquainted with. He was very happy at the prospect of his teacher being one of my friends.

I believe this job will be good practice for you because you are pursuing a degree in business, and you have done your bachelor’s in computer science. The job won’t require much of your time, only an hour or two per day to teach my uncle. If you feel like the managerial work is a bit too much, then you can refuse as well. He will pay for the tuition and managerial work separately and the pay is negotiable.

To convey your agreement/disagreement or to discuss other details about the job, you can call my uncle at +918890965431. His name is Mr. Shyam Narayan Gupta. He will be free to take up your call at any time on a Saturday. Further, if you wish to call him on a weekday then after 7 pm will be ideal.

Yours Sincerely,

Nusrat

Dear Sufiya

I hope that you are doing well, and this letter finds you in good health. Last time when we met, we had this discussion about you looking for a part time job so that you could support your studies. During one of my internships, I came across one such opportunity which I believe might be of interest to you. Considering that, the job description fits your qualifications like a glove.

I was interning in a legal aid clinic, and they are looking for a Telugu translator. This is for the legal advice and the legal awareness material that they want to circulate in villages of Telangana. It's part of their grassroots outreach programme where they translate material into local languages in order to spread legal literacy. So, to translate material they have been looking for translators and one of their requirements happens to be Telugu translator. This job provides for work from home translations and on-site translation. This allows you to either connect to a client through a video call or visit them personally to offer legal advice.

Since your mother tongue is Telugu, I believe you will be a perfect fit for the job. The legal aid clinic is funded by the government so the translation pay is decent. They will pay for every word translated. If you are working from home, then you can choose what and how much you want to translate in a day. They keep posting about their requirements for on-site translators, if it doesn’t clash with your study schedule. Thus, you can sign up for it and get an additional income.

In order to apply for this particular job, please mail your resume to GramvikasLAC @gmail.com. You can call the legal aid clinic on 0542 3314 6730. It's important that you mention the fact that you have studied Telugu at least until standard 8th. Moreover, to prove your proficiency please enclose a cover letter written in Telugu.

Yours Sincerely,

Priya

Band 6.5 IELTS Letter

Dear Lou,

I hope this letter finds you healthy and happy. It's been quite a while since we last met in person. But I got to know from some of our common friends that you were looking for a part time job so that you could support your studies. I happen to have an opportunity for you, and I hope that it is exactly what you are looking for.

There is this bakery in my town that I keep visiting and I have gotten acquainted with its owner. Just yesterday, the owner was telling me that they are opening another branch at the outskirts of the nearby city. Also, it happens to coincide with the location of your college. Since it’s a new bakery they are looking for part timers for every position from waiters to cashiers.

This is a good job because the bakery is near your college, and they pay well. You will have to do an evening shift which lasts from 3 to 6 pm. I don't think this will clash with any of my study schedules or college class timings. I have recommended your name for the cashier and the owner would like to discuss the terms of the job with you.

To get this job, you can either go to the newly opened Sunshine Bakery near your college. Because the owner is always there recruiting people for now or you can call them on this number +917654342110. You can discuss their requirements and your availability to meet them. I wish you good luck for the interview and for your future as well.

Yours Sincerely,

Vivek
