Band 7 IELTS Letter

Hi Meera,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. You must have to catch up on a lot of work after the break we took for our trip. I am finding it difficult to get in the mood for working after so much relaxation. The trip was really great, and I would like to thank you for it.

Our trip to the Himalayas will forever be memorable. I still can’t believe that we are such good trekkers. The height and the cold was truly exhilarating. But the highlight of our trip was that glacial lake that we discovered. I was amazed to see how melting glaciers create a glacial lake and camping by its side at night was beautiful.

Do you still have the copy of the photograph that we took of that glacial lake when the moon was shining on it? The picture portrayed an eerie kind of tranquillity and I want to use it for a project that I am working on.

I have searched high and low, but it seems I have lost my copy of that picture. It was one of those beautiful shots that are rare to come across. I would be grateful if you could send me that picture at your convenience. I look forward to taking many more trips with and taking pictures.

Take care and stay fine.

Warm wishes,
Vaishnav

Hi Abida,

How are you doing? I am sure that your volunteer work is keeping you busy. It is so nice that you have dedicated a part of your life helping to educate people. I am thinking of doing something positive like that as well. The trip we took has made me more determined to do that. I am thankful to you for such a wonderful trip to Modhera.

The trip to India’s first and fully solar powered village was very inspiring. It is fascinating to see what human industriousness can achieve. The way locals were so enthusiastic about clean energy sources and protecting our future fills me with hope. It was amazing to see such widespread and versatile use of solar power.

Do you have a copy of the photograph of the solar panel installation that we took? I want to show it to my class in the University. I have decided to give a presentation on clean energy, and I thought my trip to Modhera would serve as a good example.

As soon as I returned home from the trip, I had to pack my bags and leave for the hostel. In that process, I seem to have misplaced the photograph. I would be extremely grateful if you could give me your copy of that picture. It would be very helpful.

See you soon.

Best regards,
Zainab

Hi Paras,

I hope you are doing well. It’s definitely busy being a doctor. How is your book marathon going? I have not been able to finish a single book ever since I returned from that trip. Our trip to Majuli island, the inspiration to draw something always keeps striking me. It was a fun trip, and I would like to thank you for making it wonderful.

Our trip to the Majuli was very refreshing for me. Travelling in the middle of pristine nature and rowing little boats – all that filled me with delight. Even the air in Majuli felt fresh. I could not believe that an island that big could be located in the middle of a river. I would like to visit Majuli again someday.

Do you have the photograph of the local pond wherein the wooden cabin was reflected? It was such a great shot with that wooden cabin and its reflection aligned so perfectly. I think it can inspire the artist in me even more. I would love to frame and hang it on the wall of my studio.

Unfortunately, I seem to have lost my copy of that photo. I was really looking forward to decorating my studio with pictures from our trip. If you could please give me your copy of that picture I would be very grateful.

I wish you well.

Your friend,
Thayi
