Letter to a Friend Reminding Him to Return the Suitcase IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates in this letter are required to address his/her friend asking for the suitcase you lent. The letter follows an informal approach. Dear Albert,
I hope your trip to Japan was fantastic. I am excited to see the photos and videos from your trip. I recall that Japan was your ideal destination. You used to promise me that I would visit Japan someday when we were both still in school, and now your wish has come true and you have already travelled there. And I think you enjoyed yourselves with your family. I hope that someday I will have the opportunity to visit this lovely and tranquil country known as Japan. Therefore, I believe you no longer need the suitcase you borrowed from me while on vacation.
You may recall that you borrowed my full-size, blue "Samsonite" suitcase last month since yours had a broken chain. You didn't have time to replace it in time for your vacation. You called me that day and said you had to borrow my bag immediately. You then came to my apartment to get the suitcase, but I wasn't there, so you got it by calling my mother.
I need my suitcase because I have made the decision to travel to Moscow, Russia, to attend my sister's wedding ceremony. In addition, I would be travelling to Germany to see my grandmother. The journey would take eight weeks. I therefore require my suitcase because it is the only one of such enormous size that I own. Since you are aware, I like to travel light and will be packing that large suitcase to the brim with my belongings. You could drop by my apartment this weekend if you have some spare time, and bring the suitcase along.
We can view photos from your vacation to Japan as well as watch a movie or play games on my new PS5. If you are unable to attend, I will come and pick up the suitcase since I want to begin packing next week.
Please let me know as soon as possible about your intention so that I can make the appropriate preparations.

I'm writing to remind you of the suitcase you borrowed from me a few months ago.
Keep in mind the last time you visited my home to celebrate Diwali. You were flying from Chennai to my house in Delhi at the time, and your suitcase's chain function was shattered at the airport. I dropped off my suitcase for you on the way back to Chennai. The huge, orange suitcase has a large size. It also features a name tag and the "American Tourister" emblem on the front.
I am currently heading to Hong Kong for a business meeting with a foreign client, thus I desperately need my suitcase. I have a few little suitcases with me, but it would be impossible for me to travel for several days with such a small suitcase. I believe the large-sized suitcase I have will fulfill my travel needs. Additionally, I plan to travel to a few stunning locations and buy a few items for my family and friends, so I believe my large suitcase will be the better option.
