Band 8 IELTS Letter

Hi Shariq,

I hope you are in the pink of health. I got your letter yesterday. It was really delightful to hear about the job opportunity that you have secured for me in your company. I am really thankful.

You have briefed me about your company the last time we met. I recall it is a multinational company with operations spanning around 25 countries and is planning a further expansion as well. I have heard only good things about your company and its work culture. I will be glad to be a part of such an establishment with an international presence.

The very next day after receiving your letter I went to resign from my current job profile. But my company has assigned a new project to me whose completion is urgent. The project was previously with another employee, but they had an accident leading to a long hospitalisation. This project will take about three months to be finished and I will not be able to take up other job offers during that period. I have considered my supervisor’s request to take up that project.

I have confidence in you that you are able to understand my current predicament. I hope that you will convey my regrets to your employer for not being able to immediately join but I am looking forward to working in your company if they can keep the position open for three months. This project that I have taken up will add to my experience and I will be able to add more value to your company.

I will await a response from you.

Keep in touch
George

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Hi Ritika,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. I received the letter you sent to me. This letter is to thank you for sparing your efforts and finding a job opportunity for me in your company. I am really happy to hear the news.

I remember you had mentioned your company a little while back. It is a highly professional company that commands respect and holds a lot of expertise in its field. It would be a dream for many to join a workplace of such high reputation. I was elated to hear that such a prestigious establishment was offering a public relations position to me.

As soon as I received your letter, I put in my resignation with the company I am currently working for. But according to the policies of my company, every employee has to hand in a three-month notice before finally resigning from their position. So, I will not be out of job until three months as I have to serve my notice period. I was also planning on using these three months to tie up any loose ends that my projects within the current company may have.

I trust that you will understand my situation as to why I won’t be able to join even though it’s such a good opportunity that you have gotten for me. Will you please convince your company to hold out for me as I can be bringing in much needed experience to the position that I am offered within the company. This will be beneficial for both the company and me.

I will be waiting for an answer from you.

See you soon
Amrita

Band 6.5 IELTS Letter

Hi Vineeth,

I hope you're doing well. I read the letter that you had sent to me. It fills me with gratitude that you found a job opportunity for me in your company. I would like to thank you for your efforts.

You have told me earlier about your company. It is a highly profitable new age start up company with some out of the box innovations to its name. Joining such a workplace would be a dream come true for me because I have always been passionate about innovating. After I got to know your company is offering me the position of a project manager, I was overjoyed.

The day I received your letter I talked to my current boss about this opportunity to follow my passion for innovation. He was very encouraging, but he asked me if I could train my replacement in this company before leaving. So, I will not be able to resign from my current job until the recruitment and training of my replacement is complete. This process is going to take three months.

I believe that you understand my reasons for not immediately joining even though I would love to. I would request you to explain my situation to your employer and if possible, hold the vacancy open for me and I will be joining the company three months later. I believe I can be a valuable asset to your company.

I will wait for your reply.

Your Friend
Dhriti
