Letter to a Friend Abroad Describing About Your Holidays in the Countryside IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter writing topic. Candidates are asked to write an informal letter. Each of the three sample responses contains an introduction, a body, and a conclusion in three paragraphs. The letter must be brief and to the point.

Band 7 IELTS Letter

Dear Ankit,

Hey, it's been a long time since we last exchanged letters. How are you doing? I hope you are feeling well and can read my letter. Where do you intend to go during the summer? My family has opted to visit my aunt this time, who lives out in the Bangalore countryside. My aunt's home, albeit located in the Western Ghats, yet boasts a number of amenities that are out of the ordinary.

It includes a swimming pool, tall fruit trees, a sports club, and a party area. The tall green coffee and tea plantations that surround it give the impression that it is a resort. The main drawback to staying here is that there are frequent power outages in this region. Because of this, using technological devices like a laptop and a phone has become challenging. The good news is that I've met a few new people who are excellent at cricket and woodblock painting, and I've made some new friends in the process. They are assisting me in learning things in a fresh method. I suppose if someone were to ask, I'd describe my time spent in the country as genuinely amazing and rejuvenating. My mind has been cleared thanks to it. On your subsequent trip to India, I hope to meet you there as well. I appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.

Dear Manya,

Hello, I'm writing to let you know that I will be in the Maldives for the summer. In terms of life, the summer has been completely different. We almost seem to be living in a different reality. I have a sound night's sleep and don't actually need to wake up early to complete my daily responsibilities. Fantastic describes the hotel where I'm staying.

It is close to a beach, therefore I enjoy seeing the sunset every day. The environment is calm, and the temperature is moderate. Every day I get a two-wheeler to help me get around. I visit villages and talk to locals. The inhabitants are warm and welcoming. However, there is an issue associated with this particular aspect.

Since I am a vegan and seafood makes up the majority of the food served, this is a problem. Therefore, I'm having a hard time deciding what to eat right now. I think I'll go on to another hotel that also serves vegan food. I've been considering doing this every summer because it's been so peaceful and enjoyable here. If you could join me for the summer, it would be wonderful. It will be a nice holiday for you, and you will undoubtedly enjoy the location and meals. Please let me know what you think.

I am doing great, thanks for asking. I'm writing to let you know that I've been in Ladakh for the summer. In terms of life, the summer has been completely different. We almost seem to be living in an entirely different reality. I have a sound night's sleep and don't actually need to wake up early to complete my daily responsibilities.

I am staying in a wonderful hotel. Every day I enjoy watching the sunrise and the sunset. The area is tranquil, and the weather is more pleasant than in our metropolis. Every day I get a two-wheeler to help me get around. I visit local locations and socialise with folks. The inhabitants are warm and welcoming. The delicious meals and beautiful scenery are the highlights of the journey. The cuisine still has a distinct flavour even though it isn't as spicy as we would like to consume. The most beautiful aspect of Ladakh is the scenery. I find it impossible to look away from the mountain and the beautiful sight it offers during sunrise and dusk. It is unquestionably among the nicest locations to visit in the summer. I hope all is well with you, and whenever it is feasible, I urge you to book a vacation to Ladakh. I'm eager to meet you and hear from you in the near future. Please give my love to your family.
