Letter to a Friend About Buying a House IELTS General Writing Task 1

Since we hadn't owned a home before, my parents and I made the decision to buy one. Next month, Papa will retire, and he will receive his retirement fund. This month, I will also start working there. We decided that it would be a good time to buy a home because we could buy it for a minimum price with retirement funds and I could pay off the loan afterwards.

Papa advised me to look for a house close to my office because it will be good for everyone because if there is an emergency, I will be nearby, and as you know, my office area is very good and has all amenities nearby. Keeping that in mind, I have been looking for a decent house close to my office for many days but I haven't seen one. While another home may be offered for a much lower price but have some concerns with subsurface water, the first one may be too expensive despite having a good atmosphere. I had given up looking for a good one in all honesty.

However, there is a building that is virtually finished construction right here near my place of employment. I went and spoke with the guys there, and they claimed it would be finished by the end of the month and that they had a deal with a pharmacy and a grocery shop. It is advantageous that it contains these things because Mama and Papa won't have to travel far to get necessities. I learned that it was created by the business you formerly worked for. I would be grateful if you could assist us in purchasing a home there at a reasonable price because you have excellent contacts with everyone there.

I have no idea why dad made this choice, but I believe that he was under a lot of stress because of us and because taking care of us has been challenging for him. You know it's hard for a married man to accomplish all these things, but these days because of his work pressure and more work he is not able to travel to us regularly as he did before. In order for us to all be able to live together, he and his wife decided to buy a large house and came to us with their plans.

I didn't want them to have to carry any additional responsibility as a result of us, so I resisted making their decision. My daughter-in-law, however, pushed us to accept it and promised to take good care of us going forward, so I was unable to maintain my position for very long. We began looking for a good house after reaching a consensus among ourselves. The homes in the neighbourhood where you live, according to my son, are nice.

So I've made the decision to write you a letter asking you to hunt for a property in your neighbourhood that suits us. We are looking for a three-bedroom apartment or a standalone home with parking for two cars, two bikes, and decent water facilities. Even better, if it has a garden, since then I can play with my grandchildren and spend some great time with them, and we can both get together frequently in our final days with our kids and their kids. I sincerely hope that this won't be a burden for you, and I want you to lend a hand without a doubt. Whatever the cost, if it's good we'll buy it and I want you to write a letter as soon as you find one so that I'll come and have a look at it.

I've been looking for a home, mostly an apartment in the city that is both roomy and well-built. I have browsed through some of the catalogues of various city builders in preparation for my anticipated purchase of a 2BHK duplex unit. The kitchen and toilet rooms in some of the apartments are not up to snuff, despite the fact that they have some of the most incredible views and space. The number of rooms, size of the rooms, kitchen, and bathroom of certain flats are also ideal. It would take me at least 1-2 hours to drive from these apartments to my place of employment because they are quite a distance from the city. My calendar would become crowded.

Would you please let me know if you know of any contacts for reputable builders in the area? Despite the fact that I would probably bargain before deciding, the budget is not a concern for me.
