Letter to a Classmate Inviting Them for a Reunion IELTS General Writing Task 1 is a letter-writing topic. Candidates are required to address their classmate in this topic in a semi-formal tone. Dear Jatin,
Hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing this letter to let you know that there is a reunion of our classmates (2002-03 batch). I would like it if you come to join in the get-together so that we all can be together once more.
We are all busy in our lives, and we all have hectic schedules. There are very few people who are able to keep in contact with their schoolmates. So I have planned this reunion, where we will be able to refresh our old golden memories. The event has been planned in Grand Hotel Kolkata on 15th August 2022 at 12 pm. I have taken much toil in fixing the date and the venue. I have fixed the date on a National Holiday, so that everyone has a holiday, and they can easily attend the reunion. I have also placed an order for Lunch from that hotel itself. It is going to be a grand celebration.
I know there are some people who wish for a reunion but cannot arrange for it, or don’t even have time for their friends and relatives. Some are there, who cannot even make time for a reunion, but badly want a reunion. I have borne the toil from them too. It was really difficult to trace the addresses or contact numbers of so many friends. I had some and had to gather the others. So it’s my earnest request to you, please attend the reunion and make it a success. I am sending this letter quite early so that you can rearrange your schedule and do the needful to attend the reunion. Hoping to see you on 15th August.

Dear Koustav,
This letter is to bring to your notice that our school, Saint Merry Convent school has arranged for a reunion of the students of batch 1958. The event has been planned for 25th December 2022. This has been arranged by our school principal, as we were the first ISC batch of this school. I (head girl 1958 batch) am writing this invitation letter to you all on behalf of our principal. The plans are ready, and we would also like to invite people, who would like to come up a day before the event day to decorate the auditorium where the reunion program will be held.

My main purpose to pen down this letter is to invite you for a class reunion at Hotel Paramount in Delhi on 2nd October 2022 at 2 pm. It is really hard to believe that it has been 20 years since we have passed out of our school. It is a great opportunity to walk back through our school days in memory lane. We are keen to know about each other’s life events and would love to know how is your life going since you left school.
After considering many things, we have decided that a day of national holiday would be best for the reunion. Therefore please write in your schedule, and postpone all your workings accordingly. The venue of this get-together has been fixed in a hotel opposite our school. Hope that would be a convenient place for all.
