Band 7 IELTS Essay

Despite efforts made by every nation to control it, crime is expanding like a disease of the contemporary age. The fact that the number of youth crimes is rising daily is even more alarming. Different explanations for this situation are being offered by experts. I believe that in order to address this issue, some crucial areas require additional focus.

First off, poverty is the primary factor fuelling this issue; about 30% of the world's population lives in abhorrent conditions. For young people from such backgrounds, engaging in illicit activity is a better and simpler way to get rich. They have a difficult time letting go of the need to get money because of their early childhood experiences. Second, the necessity of youth engaging in illegal activity is also being greatly aided by unemployment. The majority of people nowadays are well educated, but they struggle to find suitable employment due to a lack of chances. The use of drugs and other addictive substances is currently widespread among young people. And while they are under the influence of these substances, they often engage in criminal activity. The government should play a crucial role in addressing all of these. Governments must give the poor enough assistance and support so they can support themselves. In addition, the government should spend its money on sectors where there aren't enough jobs to go around to meet the demands of the younger generations. Furthermore, those who breach the law, particularly those who deal in illegal substances, should be subject to rigorous laws and regulations. Additionally, authorities might put up rehabilitation facilities to aid in people's recovery from addiction. In order to prevent the growth of young crime and its negative impacts and ensure a better future, governments and societies should cooperate. The more important factors to address the problem of juvenile involvement in crimes include child welfare, and mental health. Further it also includes; education, social services, and employment.

There is no denying that nearly every positive and negative area has advanced greatly over the past few decades. And this can be seen all too clearly in the acts and behaviours of young people. Teenage crime rates are suddenly rising in several cities around the world, as has been mentioned by numerous people.

In an effort to solve this global issue, the government and parents are working together. Many individuals think that the best method to reduce the number of crimes in society is through carefully selected punishment. Despite what a few of them may think, there are other ways to lower crime than through this. They believe that there must be an alternative. First of all, it is indisputable that more young people are becoming involved in violence, robbery, and even murder crimes. The rates are higher now than ever before, according to the most recent statistics. According to specialists, the primary cause of this is that today's youngsters are developing without the attention of either their parents or instructors. Additionally, schools do not teach students about social and emotional development. Second, action movies featuring robbery and murder are quite popular with young people. Teenagers who watch these kinds of movies are more likely to commit crimes since they attempt to mimic what they see on screen, as is evident. Additionally, since young people are influenced by both what they watch and hear, movies have a significant impact on them. Thirdly, the fact that crime is surprisingly on the rise in the majority of nations throughout the world no longer surprises anyone. Even though crime is reported daily when they read the newspapers or watch the news on television. Youth are actually breaking the law, particularly when it comes to violating the rights of others through violence. I believe that using harsher penalties rather than prison sentences is the greatest strategy to manage and lessen the amount of crime. For example, financial hardship and even detention. Additionally, a lack of social and emotional skills is a major contributor to the rise in young criminality. Thus the government should give both the legal and educational systems greater attention.

It is true that juvenile engagement in crime is rising. Juvenile delinquency, usually referred to as youth crime, is the involvement of adolescents, particularly juveniles, in illegal behaviour. And it is a worry for people all over the world. Canadian police services indicated that between 2005 and 2006, the crime rate among young people aged 12 to 17 increased by 3%.

Along with serious crimes, there have been more instances of vandalism and disturbing the peace of others. Another startling finding of this study was the sharp rise in drug-related crimes among young individuals. In Canada, 693 young people out of 100,000 were charged with drug-related offences in 2006. Consequently, the rate of drug offences among young people is now roughly twice as high as it was ten years ago. A study on these juvenile offenders found that a significant portion of the rise in youth assault rates was responsible for the rise in youth violence. Around the world, there are so many youngsters who commit crimes that it seems to be a matter for concern. However, non-violent crime is what kids commit the majority of the time. They receive an opportunity to reinvent themselves as a result of the less severe treatment given to their cases. However, numerous studies show that young people turn to crime primarily due to their inability to cope with the pressures of daily life. Or perhaps it's because the morals and ideals of society are greatly violated by their environment. As a result, it is true that society has a major impact on deciding which children grow up to commit crimes and which ones do not. The best approach to safeguarding society is to stop young crime before it starts. Additionally, the law can only offer a small portion of a remedy to teenage criminality. Outside of the criminal judicial system, a larger portion is located. Society and the child's home play a major role. His fate depends on the surroundings he is exposed to at home and in his neighbourhood.
