Topic: International tourism has become a huge industry in the world. Are the problems that International travelers cause greater than the advantages they bring ?

Band 6 IELTS Essay

International travel is currently proving to be beneficial to both travelers and host countries. I believe that international tourism has significant advantages, such as boosting finances, improving psychological effects, and expanding outlook.

The benefits of traveling to other countries might extend not just to travelers, but also to hosts. People abroad who travel can communicate with locals who are ordinary or workers of some organizations and this may enhance their mindset and outlook. There are a lot of things that travelers can learn from a country where they are traveling. A second benefit of tourists visiting is that it may also benefit the locals. Local markers offered gifts, products, and souvenirs for sale to the large number of visitors. This is beneficial for the economy of the host country in terms of finance. It is also possible for tourists to exchange cultures and learn some new traditions as well. Traveling to other countries may, however, result in some unwanted consequences. Visiting abroad can create cultural confusion between visitors and locals, because locals may adopt new cultures from foreign visitors. Travelers also may throw litter to beautiful places like parks, city centers, historical sites, etc. When they do this, they pollute the air and it is a bit harmful to the environment of the host country because they throw cans, pockets, bottles, and other objects. Despite the small drawbacks of traveling to other nations, it is more beneficial to visitors and hosts. However, despite the benefits mentioned above, excessive international travel can have some drawbacks. One potential issue is that it may have a negative impact on the environment. Long-distance flights and cargos, for example, are the most harmful modes of transportation due to the high amount of emissions produced.

Furthermore, in some countries, tourists are disrespectful of the environment or of foreign culture and its attractions. A recent example that should be considered is the Australian government's decision to prohibit climbing Uluru, the Aboriginal cultural symbol.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Tourism has undeniably boosted the economies of some countries to dizzying heights. This essay will discuss the benefits of international tourism and how they outweigh the drawbacks. To be sure, there are numerous benefits to travelling abroad. It can lead to the acquisition of skills that only globetrotters can possess, like improved communication with other cultures, the ability to open one's mind, and the willingness to take risks.

Second, it benefits the populations that host foreign visitors, especially in developing countries where tourism is the only source of income. To begin with, tourism brings and encourages development in a country, which benefits the masses. Dubai and Seychelles, for instance, are well-known for their excellent roads, airports, hotels, and other attractions. Second, tourism has significantly reduced the problem of unemployment. People who work as tour guides and drivers, for example. Hotels and restaurants also employ a large number of people. Languages are also learned and business ideas are constantly exchanged. All of this provides the tourist with a better understanding of the host country. On the other hand, rising crime rates are one of the major issues confronting international tourism. Many locals take advantage of tourists' unfamiliarity by robbing them of valuables, such as jewelry and cameras. Furthermore, because of the change in environment, tourists are more likely to suffer from health issues, and contagious diseases may be spread. Finally, tourism has put most natural reservoirs in jeopardy. For example, in South Africa, tourist visits to the Great Barrier Reef have increased the site's dangers, and the government has decided to close it for a while. Finally, after weighing the benefits and drawbacks of tourism, I conclude that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The advantages foreigners can gain and the profits local communities can reap in international travel far outweigh the disadvantages of international travel.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

International tourism is currently in the spotlight. This has resulted in numerous benefits for nations with tourist-friendly cities. However, it should be noted that there are a few issues that must be addressed by both governments and society. It will also explain why investing in the tourism industry is still worthwhile, despite some of the difficulties.

Tourism may have an impact on historical sites as well as the natural environment of host cities. Many tourists do not pay enough attention to preserve the remains of historical structures. Many of them make notes on these priceless objects and are unconcerned about their significance. As a result, the more tourists who visit a particular site, the greater the likelihood of destruction. Furthermore, some people may lack knowledge about environmental preservation. As a result, they may engage in actions that have long-term consequences for the nature of the host city. For example, they may start a fire in a protected area without knowing the sequence of events, resulting in massive forest destruction. However, because these outcomes can be significantly reduced with some precautions, societies can profit greatly from tourism industries. International travelers bring a lot of money with them, which they intend to spend on their destination. Eventually, the total amount of money in a given country may skyrocket. Nations can introduce their culture, including traditional food and clothing, to people all over the world through the tourism industry. As a result, a positive sense of nationalism may emerge, which can assist a nation in making their country and culture great and lively. In conclusion, while the tourism industry can impose difficulties on a country, it can also increase its wealth and pride. To get the most out of this industry, both governments and people must choose the right management path.
