Lodhi garden is a place that offers a serene and quiet environment. This is one of the prime reasons why I absolutely admire that place. It offers peace amidst the chaos of the capital. As the name suggests The Lodhi gardens combine four gardens, along with historical tombs and a mosque belonging to the Delhi Sultanate. The Gardens also sustain bamboo plantations. It is full of exquisite sites. The place is surrounded by varieties of trees, and a number of flowers, which adds to its beauty. Besides the greenery, it has a pond in between which enhances I have always felt at peace while roaming on its pathways. It’s a perfect place to visit clear one’s head or for a self-date.

What people do there?

Another reason to visit besides its natural beauty is its historical importance. The place has four tombs and a mosque constructed during the 12th century. Though the monuments are almost in ruins now, it doesn’t degrade their value. The place overall hits home. In the strangeness of a new city, it is the perfect place to warm your heart. The Gardens always lift up my mood as it’s crowded with families. The wind is always delightful and pleasing to the self. There are many vendors selling tasty snacks.

Every visitor who visits Delhi must try this place. These are perfect for a family picnic or a couple of self-can totally get immersed in the view. For anyone who is new to Delhi, and looking to escape from the hush and rush of the ever-moving city should definitely visit the Lodhi Gardens. I believe it’s the heart of the city.

How you can go there?

It’s impossible to describe the beauty of Mussoorie in short. The place has excellent food, sightseeing and you can literally touch the clouds. The clouds add to the glory of the place. The clouds are generally floating and pass through you. The feeling is indescribable. Apart from the pretty view from the mountains, the mountains offer an amazing waterfall site- The Kempty Falls. The site just leaves you speechless. The water flows downstream with immense pressure and to my surprise, there were people bathing and enjoying themselves under the waterfall. I still fairly remember the view.

What people do there?

Another place in Mussoorie that completely grabbed my attention was The Mall Road. Filled with markets and eateries, the road serves probably the best Momos I ever tasted. The stalls serve local foods, which are tasty enough to try again and again. Not just food, but the road is filled with many shops, selling local goods. Nothing beats the quality of their sweaters and handmade purses. Mussoorie has always kept me in wonder and will always do. Apart from the delicious cuisines, I tried the chai sold at the mountain tops. In the chilling cold, it's always good to have some warm chai. Everyone who is looking for a change, can hide away in Missouri. The weather is cold throughout the year, thus woolens remain in high demand. It is advisable also not to visit it during winter. Summers are the best season to visit the queen of mountains-The Mussorie.

The place is perfect if you are someone who loves exploring and is a little adventurous. It has some pretty treks as well, which sadly I was not able to visit, because of lack of time. One can visit it with family as well as with friends. It’s full of fun and food. I have never seen nature with such beauty, offering nothing but calm. The place is heavenly, and lucky are those who live there. The place is therapeutic to the soul and I would love to visit it again.

How you can go there?

One of my favorites out of every spot I have seen is the town’s dam. It might come as a surprise how can a dam- a water reservoir, be amazing!? But indeed in my town it is! The water view from top looks mesmerizing to the eye. The experience is more than splendid. I remember the first time I visited it as a kid and understood the whole mechanism from my father.

What people do there?

I still remember that priceless experience. I often go there as it calms my mind and the fresh air leaves me afresh! The city receives its water supply mainly from this dam only. It gets flooded during the rainy season, drowning it’s nearby area. This makes the dam risky. But it’s important in the scenario that it supplies water to the whole city. It’s beautiful too in the rainy season. Many people prefer walking here as the sight is pleasing and calming. Often I go here for morning walks too.

Another site that never fails to charm is a UNESCO site -Deogarh. Deogarh is an ancient Hindu temple. It is situated 30km from my hometown. Being a temple it’s often quiet. I go there on weekends with my family to spend some quality time. Besides the tranquility, it’s filled with greenery. The temple is located amidst the jungle. Being in the jungle, tourists often spot deer and peacocks on their way to the temple. These two spots are the center of attraction for me and the tourist as well. I have always felt cherished and nurtured by these spots.
