Band 8 IELTS Essay

A leader is the one who stays forward the team and mentors the whole squad for achieving a definitive motive. Several characteristics are there which are interlinked with the competence which are carried by the Leaders, and in my perspective, intelligence is a crucial factor. The same has been elaborated in the article with some symbolisms.

Intelligence is one characteristics with help of which a person works on all the characteristics of a cicumstances and then further advances. Intelligence is an feature which is unable to be taught when the other qualities can be taught, more clearly, the time calculations, ability to be managed, companionship, etc. A lot of factors of intelligence can give service to the nature maintained by a leader such as self-restrainment, bravery, to be eminent to cope up with uncertainties, skills of communications, etc. An intelligent leader should stay serene in the most unfavorable situations, should not get shortfall of courage in his group and should use example of his/her competitors’ errors at a high quantity for the intent of his/her team. He/She may get devoid several winning moments even after his/her team members performs well, in the case if he/she is not so much creative. As earlier appointed that intelligence cannot be taught or bring from its own, but it is acquired by getting through both the success and the failure. An intelligent leader stays upon the creation of a plan and also executing it in a correct manner. Alternative plans should also be implemented by the leaders not losing their hope. It can be said regarding this that a project manager can be taken in consideration.  A project manager should be aware of their jobs alloted to each workers who are working in his team and assist them to prohibit from any wrong steps. His quality of intelligence would sanction him to help his colleagues to conquer the task in a suitable way, within the short time being. Besides all these, he/she should assist some plans and go through the entire objective of work. So, with thorough concept from above, it can be concluded that intelligence stands high above among the other abilities of a leader, and a leader not having the quality of intelligence does not give perks of any deeds to his team and thereby shrinks the teamwork.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Leadership in a person is only induced when he/she possesses a set of qualities including management, risk-taking ability, motivation skill, convincing ability, smartness, personality, intelligence, and many more.

Thus, using only intelligence to describe leadership would be unjust. Several other leadership qualities can also be considered important that makes a good and efficient leader. First of all, a leader is someone who works for his team and leads from the front for the betterment of the team. Hence, one of the major traits of a leader would be selflessness. Moreover, he/she should have confidence in the team, should be willing to take credit for the team's failure or loss, and should give credit to the team for success. Secondly, as a team proceeds in doing a task, encountering early failures may lead to demotivation among the members. Hence, it is the responsibility of the leader to stay motivated as well as keep the team motivated and optimistic. Moreover, the leader must have an energetic and influential personality that impresses other people to be like him. As he has to set an example for others, he must be a responsible, straightforward person and a man of principles. Additionally, creativity and innovation are prerequisites for many fields. Hence, the leader also needs to keep up with the changing trend and be up-to-date. One major aspect of leadership is fitness. In various fields, be it sports or mental/technical work, people are required to be field and stay healthy in order to be consistent. As a leader has to set an example, he/she should be the fittest. Therefore, intelligence is not the only sector a leader has to work on. He/she must become hard-working, fairly strict, and talk up to the point. If a person possesses these abilities, then no one can stop him from becoming a well-known leader.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

It is understandable that only having mental or situational intelligence will not help an individual become a leader. Also, performing well in other aspects without having any kind of intelligence or presence of mind is completely useless.

Therefore, a leader must first know the art of maintaining balance among the different leadership qualities. This balance can only be achieved through time management and discipline. Hence, these two may be seen as the ultimate qualities of a leader. Becoming a leader is not an easy task as it takes a lot of effort, hard work, confidence, fitness, discipline, teaching, and innovation. In a leader, intelligence refers to the overall thinking of that individual and presence of mind. If a leader is intelligent it means that he/she knows perfectly about his team and the objective, the path to achieving the objective, and making the perfect use of resources provided to him. Apart from this, he/she must also be very calm as too much eagerness might lead to failure. For instance, consider a head chef who knows the procedure of making a dish perfectly and wants to apply his full potential. However, his impatience at cooking might lead to making uncooked food or even burning the dish. In both cases, neither the leader is praised nor is the goal achieved. So, patience and calmness are also pillars of leadership. In the end, the leader must create a friendly and supportive environment for his colleagues. He/she must act selflessly and think of the team instead of personal achievement. He must also be strict at times but should not get carried away. At times, the leader may want to sacrifice his post of achievement. Hence, he/she should be ready for that. Furthermore, a leader never complains, if he does - he is not a leader. Even after performing with full potential, the team fails to succeed, then the leader must be ready to take the blame. Therefore, it can be concluded that intelligence is not the only important trait of a leader and all the leadership qualities must coexist in order to make a perfect leader.
