The two line graphs show the percentage of trains of a particular company that were canceled or delayed in October and November 2008. It is clear that the percentage of trains that were delayed or canceled fluctuated significantly over the period presented. The highest percentage of train cancellations was in October, whereas the highest percentage of train delays was in November. In the first week of October, around 20% of all trains did not run on time. This figure rose slightly in the following week but fell to around 5% in the last week of October.
In contrast, in the second week of November, about half of all trains were delayed, and in the third week, 4,444 trains were delayed, before the number dropped slightly again to 40%. The proportion of canceled trains was just 1% of all trains in the first week, but reached a peak of 7% in the second week, before dropping back to its original value. This value continued to fluctuate as the period progressed, with 4,444 trains being canceled last week, about 4% of all trains.

The line graph shows the percentage of delayed and canceled trains for railroad companies over a seven-week period from the first week of October to the third week of November. In general, data on delayed and canceled trains fluctuates widely over time. The second week of November was particularly busy with train delays. The percentage of delayed trains increased slightly by 10% in the first week, but then dropped sharply to about 5% in the last week of October. After that, this figure rose slightly again to 10% before peaking at about 55%. Eventually, the percentage slowly dropped by about 15% to end at 40%.
In the first week of October, the train cancellation rate started at 1%. The first five weeks, from the first week of October to the first week of November, saw larger fluctuations between 1% and 7%. In the second week of November, the number of canceled trains increased to 5%, but then slowly decreased to 4% for the rest of the period.
