Band 6 IELTS Answer

The accompanying graphic tabulates a statistical comparison of the number of native speakers of six widely used world languages. And the additional number of speakers of those languages. The popularity of Mandarin Chinese and English is particularly high when compared to the other languages on the list, as can be seen from the table overall. With 1090 million and 942 million speakers, respectively, English and Mandarin Chinese are the languages most commonly spoken worldwide.

The data clearly shows that Mandarin Chinese is the language that is spoken worldwide on a daily basis. 900 million people who speak this language as a native tongue make up the 1,090 million total speakers. In terms of the total number of native speakers, Hindi, Spanish, and English are in the next three positions. This ranges from 339 to 370 million, with Hindi at the top and English at the bottom. The overall number of English speakers around the world stands out in the comparison. This figure has been reported as high as 942 million. Arabic and Portuguese, which together have a native speaker population of 204 million, are in fourth and fifth place, respectively. However, when it comes to additional speakers, Arabic has 14 million more speakers than Portuguese, moving the latter's position to the bottom of the chart. There are 10 million speakers of Portuguese as a second language.

Band 6.5 IELTS Answer

The table shows both the number of people who speak each language as a second language and the number of people who speak each language as a native tongue. It is apparent that Mandarin Chinese has a remarkably higher speaker population than the other languages with more than one billion native speakers. There are more people who speak English and Mandarin Chinese than any other language, with 1090 million and 942 million speakers, respectively.

Mandarin is typically the first language for those who speak it (900 million). In contrast, just 190 million people worldwide speak Mandarin Chinese as a second language. What is amazing about English speakers is that there are more people who speak English as a second language than there are native English speakers. They make up 603 and 339 million speakers respectively. When it comes to speaking these languages as a second language, Hindi has a far higher number of speakers (120 million) than Spanish does (420 million). Despite the fact that the total number of Hindi speakers (490 million) and Spanish speakers (420 million) is approximately equal (70 million). With 206 million and 203 million native speakers, respectively, Portuguese and Arabic have comparable populations. However, the number of people who speak Arabic as a second language is 24 million. It is roughly 2.5 times more than the number of people who speak Portuguese as a second language.

Band 7 IELTS Answer

The following table shows the number of native speakers of each language, as well as the number of people who speak each language as a second language. Overall, as can be observed, it is evident that the majority of individuals speak Mandarin Chinese, which is noticeable.
