Topic: Many believe that the best way to ensure a happier society is to reduce the difference in income earnings between the rich and poor. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Band 7 IELTS Essay
A happier society requires to ensure that the disparities between the rich and poor need to be reduced. The extent of income of a person is continually a matter of concern in social sciences. The symmetry of society relies on how this income is distributed among the people. Dismally, at the beginning of the 1950s, the disparity between poor and rich has become far-reaching and in the present day scenario, this disparity has stretched to its peak point. This essay offers major issues as ill-advised development and unsound economic growth and introduces suitable solutions.
The main issues caused by increasing disparity are non-centralised development and unhealthy economic growth. This disparity leads to the accumulation of development to the high-income groups in the society in any country. For example, the streets in Mumbai, India, are inhabited by slum-people, the underprivileged people. This status has not transformed for a decade. Nonetheless, the high-income groups have made multiplexes and multi-storied buildings. The second issue is unsound economic growth, which means the growth in a country's world's per-capita income is arising only because of growing income levels of the rich. As a result, poor people have got choked in a distinct label and not able to enhance above that. To beat this social discrimination, governments should focus on providing cheaper education to the poor, reach out to them with educational and employment opportunities. A revolutionary change in social and economic structure should be brought about to address the issue of income inequality.
Band 7.5 IELTS Essay
The economic status mostly defines the social status of people in the modern society which creates much disparity in the socia context. It is noteworthy that the present social scenario is creating an imbalance in the economy, expanding the difference between the rich and the poor. One must accept that life for a few types of people is very hard, not that they have never worked or are involved in anti-social activities like drugs or alcohol. In "Gold Coast Bulletin'' it is said that 700 families in Queensland were disconnected from electricity in the past 3 months as the bills were not paid. It is indeed more complex for these families to endure and accept, as the cost of living is irrationally high.
On the other hand, 1% of Earth’s community possess as much money as the rest 99%, which is certainly biased. For example, the two wealthiest families in the States –the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, their ways of getting such gigantic sums are not consistently legal, but society favours disregarding these details. In my view, the preferred solution to this issue is to boost the education and employment chances for the underprivileged. Governments must establish that every person in the country is educated to at least get a bachelor's degree, by providing disbursing funds, especially for low-income groups. Also, the employment information must be heightened among the underprivileged. Numerous people are ignorant of the changes as they cannot bear to show up at seminars. The government can keep some jobs for the underprivileged to assure their well-being. After deliberating the suitable issues related to the growing gap, I felt that the only way to solve them is through joint efforts from the government, individuals, and companies. No community can succeed and progress safely unless the gaps are bridged between people in all aspects giving an impartial opportunity to everyone to live in comfort if they worked reasonably hard to achieve it.
Band 8 IELTS Essay
The fact that economic level disparities exist in the society most often creates high level of differences among people while coexisting. The unequal distribution of wealth is one of the most common problems faced by people and different countries. There is no second thought that the gap between the poor and rich is widening over time. This is affecting the daily life of people. This affects the economy that causes disparity and hinders the overall development of the nation. The government must strive toward reducing this gap.
The main issue is the unequal distribution of wealth. Education has become less accessible to people. More precisely, to decide on poor people. The quality education provided is expensive. There are schools and colleges which are very costly for normal people to afford. A certain population of people cannot even have jobs for an income complete education. This has become a fundamental disadvantage for them. Another important problem is the increase in the crime rate. As poor people do not make enough money for their needs, they tend to move towards Aeneas acts. However, some measures can be taken to tackle this inequality. Firstly the government must develop schemes like building new government schools and employment opportunities. Schemes like scholarships can help poor people to afford education in better schools and colleges. Reserving seats for marginalized people is also a solution. This provides a fair chance for people of every class to compete. Hence the government governing body must review their policies on taxation and update them according to the disparities in the country. This will help to increase the development of life standards and lessen the gap between rich and poor people.
