Topic: In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Some predict that rather than travelling overseas for holidays in the years to come, individuals would choose to stay home. I disagree with this point of view.

For a number of reasons, people will continue to travel abroad. For starters, vacation spots abroad are now much more accessible financially. Nearly all parts in the world have cheaper flight options. Additionally, there are increasingly more families with extra money to spend. One of the first things people do when their financial condition improves is to travel. They are not likely to be content with the sights and sounds of their native nation. Therefore, it goes without saying that they will pack their bags and travel abroad.

Another significant factor in people's desire to travel abroad is social media. Nowadays, the majority of people's news feeds are flooded with images from their friends' and relatives' exotic international vacations. Their decision to purchase tickets is influenced by this. A handful of web searches are all it takes these days to find information on any location, thanks to the internet. People are no longer frightened of distance or unfamiliarity, as should be obvious. Instead, they have a strong desire to visit intriguing new locations, and no one can help but succumb to the travel bug at this point. It is seen as prestigious, which is another justification for individuals to visit abroad.

The conclusion is that although people will undoubtedly travel within their own country, they will also, if at all possible, travel abroad. Due to the prestige attached to vacationing abroad, they will actually prefer overseas holidays to domestic ones. Therefore, I disagree with the claim that in the future, individuals will favour taking vacations in their own nation.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

For many people, travelling is a way to unwind and enjoy themselves. According to some, travellers prefer to take trips within their own country rather than foreign destinations. As a result of the rapid development of international travel facilities and their continued ability to draw tourists from all over the world, I vehemently disagree with this notion.

People enjoy exploring unfamiliar places, to start with. For a sense of fulfilment, many people save money to travel to unexplored areas. For example, many who reside in hot, humid climates favour visiting colder locales, like Switzerland, to experience a climate they have never experienced.

Additionally, with better airlines and metro rail infrastructure, the amount of time spent on a train or a flight will dramatically decrease. This will enable more people to consider travelling overseas. Thus, it is likely that people will regularly decide to take vacations abroad. In addition, a sizable portion of the population favours visiting foreign countries to learn more about their cultural history. The ability to communicate effectively amongst speakers of different languages has been made possible by technological improvements. Notwithstanding the language barrier. For instance, modern technology makes it simple for people to grasp a foreign language while travelling to a non-native country. Devices that offer speech translation are one such example.

People would therefore travel to different nations to learn about them in order to communicate with the locals and have a better understanding of their customs and lifestyles. They would also use technology to make the most of their travels. Furthermore, the global coronavirus crisis is regressive, disproportionately affecting middle-income households and medium-sized businesses, which have fewer assets to protect them from insolvency. That is to say, many people's and families' financial circumstances have changed dramatically. In fact, they have less disposable income to spend on international travel.

As a result, faster and safer travel options will become more accessible as global tourism soars in the coming years. In light of this, people would favour vacationing overseas more than domestic travel.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

The human drive to discover new places has always existed. Just for the sake of wanting to travel to other areas, many new places have been found. According to critics, the pandemic's consequences will have a disastrous impact on the travel and tourism sector. Further as a result, future travellers will favour domestic vacations over foreign ones. Even while there are already negative effects associated with travelling abroad, I vehemently disagree that this will be the case in the future. That people will only travel within their own nations for vacation.

The change in surroundings is one of the important things taken into account when arranging a holiday. People all around the world are looking for a pleasant change of scenery and desire to leave their local area. Therefore, a lot of tourists from tiny countries want to go to destinations with a different topography and climate than their own country. In addition to vacationers from the plains who want to visit the mountains or the seashores. There are people from colder countries who also desire to travel to warmer locations and vice versa.

Using a recent survey by Lonely Planet magazine as an illustration, it can be shown that more than 95% of travellers chose to spend their vacations abroad. Rather than at home, citing the change in weather as a key factor in their choice. The appeal of encountering diverse cultures also contributes to the expansion of international holidays. An intriguing experience in and of itself is travelling to places with a different historical background and way of life. When rich tourists see people battling for success in a less-developed culture, it not only broadens their perspective but also instils humility. A perspective on the transitory nature of power can also be gained by vacations to locations where once-vibrant civilizations once existed.

Due to the need for such experiences, there are now many different vacation packages available. For instance, Cox & Kings, one of the top travel agencies in the world, offers holidays to historic sites as well as specially designed packages for volunteer work abroad.

In conclusion, it is safe to say that once the world has recovered from the Covid-19 virus. The tourism industry, despite currently being plagued by several flying limitations, will resume its illustrious heights. Additionally, vacation travellers won't be limited to merely visiting their own countries and will instead continue to traverse the world to discover new areas.
