Topic: In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is considered very important. Why might this be the case? Is this a positive or negative development?

Band 6 IELTS Essay

A very important decision to make is where to live. To have a place where you feel comfortable and safe is important. A place where you can feel secure after returning from work tired. People appreciate owning their own home because it gives them a sense of accomplishment rather than renting, which is not cost-effective. Living in one's own home might provide one a sense of fulfillment. In this essay, I'll explain my position on this issue.

First and foremost, people want to be the owners of their own homes so they can live comfortably. Even if they might have to fight and endure numerous obstacles to get it. Having one's own place to stay is something that many people seek. For instance, individuals borrow money from banks and mortgages to buy homes in many different nations. In contrast, a tenant not only must abide by the landlord's norms and regulations but also has no prerogative to make the necessary renovations. Therefore, having a private home where one may live comfortably without interference from others is essential.

Nevertheless, there are several advantages to having a personal residence. For instance, it grants freedom, allows one to renovate regularly, and releases one from rules. When I lived in Australia, for instance, I couldn't even move a sofa set from the living room to another room. However, having a personal space is essential for thriving in a society. Therefore, having one's own residency is crucial to an individual. Instead of renting, it will help you feel more at ease. You do not need to abide by the rigid restrictions as a tenant. Owning a home gives a person freedom and life fulfillment.

To sum up, one who wants to either live in his own house or as a tenant depends on dwellers. In my perspective, having a personal home is one individual's basic needs. It saves finance and owning a home is a natural human desire.

In several nations, people increasingly value home ownership more than apartment renting. This essay will go into the motivations for this desire and explain why it is a bad trend.

People tend to favor home ownership for two major reasons. First off, having a home or apartment means that some people do not have to waste time looking for a new place to live. Especially when their lease on a rental property expires. As a result, individuals can only concentrate on their professional objectives or other crucial matters, including marriage.

Second, a lot of individuals today purchase a property with a mortgage, so they are aware of both the total amount they owe and the required monthly payments. People are able to create a detailed long-term financial strategy as a result. They are, however, vulnerable to adjustments in the rental price made by landlords when they rent a house, therefore this is not the case.

The following factors make it unwise for many people to favor home ownership over rental housing. The majority of homes or apartments have limited liquidity, making it difficult to quickly convert them into cash. People who are still paying off their mortgages might not be able to spend money on other significant investments as a result. In addition, whereas a tenant can simply break a lease and move if they are unhappy with their existing residence. It is exceedingly challenging for property owners to do the same. In other words, after a person makes a poor choice and purchases a home that they subsequently regret. They typically have no choice but to rent out the property or tolerate living somewhere they do not like.

In conclusion, many now prefer to buy their homes in various nations because they value the stability that home ownership offers and want to have clear future plans. However, failure to give the matter careful thought could result in unfavorable consequences for the house owners.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

In some countries, people value home ownership significantly more than they value apartment renting. They believe that there should be a permanent place where they feel comfortable. Because shifting again and again destroys their comfort and security. Owning your own house provides you a sense of security, comfort, and stability. Whether it is a good or bad scenario, in my opinion, depends on a variety of circumstances.

People who own their own homes are free from both monthly rent obligations and landlord-related worries. As a result, people can alter their environment to suit their needs and preferences while still feeling safe there. The home is like heaven to many people, thus they spend a lot of money planning and furnishing it. On the other hand, some individuals view their property as an investment that they anticipate will increase in value over time.

Overall, I think that whether owning a home is a good or bad thing depends quite a bit on the individual and their circumstances. For those who have the resources to purchase a large home and minimal debts, their home is an asset, and being a homeowner is advantageous to them. However, the majority of middle-class families purchase a large home that is frequently outside of their means. They finance this by taking out substantial loans, which they then pay back over an extended period of time.

The amount of interest they must pay rises as a result. They also have to pay insurance and property taxes, which are closely correlated with the size of a home. Their regular expenses also include the cost of power and maintenance.

To sum up, I believe that if done within a budget, home ownership may be a rewarding experience. However, it could go wrong if someone takes out a loan to buy a house that is far beyond their ability to pay it back.
