In Some Countries, Celebrities Earn More Salary than Senior Politicians IELTS Writing Task 2

Celebrities have excellent opportunities thanks to OTT platforms, where they can play a variety of distinctive characters in web series of different genres and make more money than they would in traditional TV shows. The use of celebrities in advertisements is the second justification. The fame game for celebrities now revolves around advertisements. In some cases, celebrities serve as brand ambassadors for particular companies. Millions of viewers are impacted by them as they grow in influence. Additionally to increasing their income, this fosters a sizable fan base. For instance, more people in Spain follow their favourite football players than any political figure. In addition to increasing their income, these celebrities gain more fame and recognition in their home nation when they support a brand or advertisement.

The third justification is that famous people work hard to maintain their talent and are talented in the first place. Every nation values its politicians highly. However, when it comes to making more money, celebrities are the ones who capture the attention of the public and command higher fees for their various roles. Whether it's for their daily routine or fitness, celebrities put in a lot of effort every day and night. On social media, a variety of fandoms and fan pages have been made, where fans can follow their favourite celebrities and engage with them in live chats and other interactive activities. However, celebrities prevail in the field of careers. Celebrities who work for a maximum of 15-20 years and make high salaries include athletes, actors in television and film, and celebrity chefs. But only some of these get celebrity status and stardom.

Senior political leaders have more responsibilities than celebrities. Celebrities have to maintain their fan following and entertain them. But the senior political leaders have a responsibility to maintain the GDP and finance of the country. Maintaining national security, Global networks, making developmental policies, and meeting the demands of highly populated nations is very challenging and senior political leaders fulfil these challenges very well. These responsibilities make them leaders. The most important roles and responsibilities of leadership are – authority, inspiration, and management. During critical situations in any country, the government is the key authority to maintain peace and stability in the country. Political leaders are the real heroes of the country. Under their leadership and supervision, the country grows. It’s not a fame game, but it’s a game of responsibilities and national development. This is the reason why these senior political leaders deserve more salary than celebrities. In the Ukraine and Russia war situation, the senior leaders of these countries are responsible to safeguard their countries and they are putting immense efficient efforts to cope with the war and save the citizens and their countries. It is indeed a more challenging job than celebrities. Isn’t it? Then why are celebrities paid more salary than the senior politicians? Senior political leaders not only deserve respect and awards but they deserve more salaries for their sacrifices, ideologies, and continuous efforts for the progress of the country and their countrymen. Although many countries have realised the contributions of political leaders and started giving them more salaries, still countries are lagging behind. With the changing time and situations, countries should pay more salaries to the real celebrities ‘ senior political leaders as they deserve it. It is true- A political leader can be a celebrity, but all celebrities cannot be a political leader.

They are even ready to pay high amounts to get online subscriptions to entertainment sources, like watching web series on OTT channels, watching online movies, visiting celebrity concerts and matches rather than attending a political rally or listening to a political leader. Celebrities try their level best to woo the public, gain the respect and the love of their fans, they earn money and fame. But the largest achievement they get is their fan following. That’s the reason why celebrities earn more money than senior politicians, not only in India but in other countries too. It is observed that well-known people get better salaries, it’s a fact. Political leaders are more experienced, influential, and powerful when it comes to national development. Like celebrities, they also work hard to maintain the country’s reputation and good image in the world. They make decisions that impact society at large. Their decisions can make or break the country. From paving the way for international trade to the development of local communities, everything is the responsibility of political leaders.

So, both celebrities and senior political leaders share the same respect and love for the country. Both perform challenging roles for the welfare of the country. So, they should not be judged on the basis of their popularity but they should be known for their commitment and hard work. Both should be paid equal salaries. It’s high time to understand the contribution of both the senior political leaders and celebrities. Both are rich and famous but politicians enjoy a royal lifestyle and celebrities enjoy stardom. It is true- “Royalty is completely different from Stardom”.
