In the past few years, the transportation sector has undergone a significant transformation. In certain metropolitan areas, people prefer driving their vehicles, whilst in others, people like riding their bikes over driving their cars. There are several reasons for this tendency, which I will examine in more detail in my next bit of writing.

I'll also explain why I believe cycling to work is a better form of transportation. First of all, nations with high-quality road infrastructure and sound urban planning are where people mostly use motor cars. But in some countries, this might not be the case, and as a result, people might choose to travel by bicycle. Because those countries might not have well-developed infrastructure. Additionally, as individuals prefer to minimise their commute time, they frequently find cars to be more convenient. Especially when travelling farther distances where the latter mode of transportation can take considerably longer to reach the destination. For those who live in the country yet go to work in the city, cycling may be a tiresome mode of transportation. Despite the fact that vehicles are more favourable in terms of time savings, cycles are significantly more advantageous over the long term. An individual may experience long-term health benefits from pedalling. Because it frequently involves a significant energy expenditure that can aid to burn additional calories. For both physical and mental health, they are very beneficial. Bikes are a fantastic method to incorporate exercise into the daily routine because the public leads a sedentary lifestyle these days. For instance, a poll found that approximately 50% of people in Japan use pedal-powered transportation to get to their workplaces in order to stay healthy. There is no doubt that automobiles make life more convenient and pleasant, but cycling has numerous benefits. And is therefore a better form of transportation when taking into account its good effects on health. As a result, it ought to be used for travel all over the world.

These days, it seems that cars are being substituted by bicycles in some cities, while the contrast trend is happening in other cities. These changes are caused by some major reasons as now will be discussed. In many cities, bicycles are being substituted by cars for various reasons. The first reason is that people have become much richer than before.

Increased personal wealth means that individuals are more likely to have their own car these days. As a result, bicycles are outnumbered by cars in many cities and nations. The second reason is the development of road networks. Roads are now much wider and available more in numbers due to the policies of many governments. It makes cars become the most convenient and efficient means of transportation in many cities. Additionally, the price of some of the cars is not extremely expensive anymore. It results in low taxes, so it is easier to purchase a car than before. Low taxes have also made it easier than ever before to own a car because the cost of autos is not as high as it once was. However, there are other circumstances that can account for the opposite change. As a result of people's environmental worries, bicycles are first and foremost growing more and more popular in modern society. People are increasingly switching to bicycles as their primary mode of transportation. As a result of their growing awareness of the harmful effects that automobile exhaust gases have on the environment. Second, the health of many commuters is the primary factor in their decision to ride bicycles rather than drive to work. Cycling is a good way to exercise and stay healthy as people become more reliant on their cars. Last but not least, the increased cost of fuel in many places nowadays discourages people from driving. This forces them to switch to bicycles as a mode of transportation. In conclusion, some of the aforementioned factors may help to explain why some cities have switched from using cars to bicycles and vice versa.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

People's preferences for modes of transportation are evolving daily in the modern age. They favour bicycles over vehicles as a result in several cities. However, in some regions, the converse is true of this trend. The former approach, in my opinion, is preferable to the latter. The motivations behind this trend change will be covered in this essay.

The majority of people in the world's global village are concerned about the effects of pollution on the environment and are aware of its rising level. This issue is quite important when deciding whether to use bicycles or vehicles. A rise in bicycle utilisation of 10% from the previous year, for instance, has been reported in recent studies from the USA. The bulk of the populace in industrialised nations, however, is literate and able to easily identify the long-term effects of pollution. This has led to a change in mindset. In addition, cycling is a known strategy to enhance and maintain physical fitness in today's world where everyone is worried about their well-being. Additionally, it allows customers the option to select between comfort and health. For instance, it has been demonstrated that people who prioritise fitness over convenience have better heart health. And the Canadian president even rides a bicycle to work every day. Despite the fact that only a small number of people are doing so correctly. By prioritising the car as a form of transportation, people, on the other hand, pick their comfort over their health and the environment. As a result, both the number of traffic jams and the level of noise and air pollution rise. Due to the decline in the use of private vehicles, Delhi, India, has the highest amount of carbon monoxide of any other location in the country. The harm it does to the environment is immense, despite the fact that it offers more convenience. In order to ensure a brighter future for the next generation, I will once again stress the importance of choosing a pollution-free means of transportation. Such as bicycles. The public must constantly be made aware of this if this is to be accomplished.
