Topic: People in many countries spend more and more time far away from their families. Why does this happen and what effects will it have on them and their families? OR

There is now an increasing trend of individuals spending time far away from their families, which I believe sprouts from their hectic professional lives. In my opinion, this development has adverse effects on both individuals and their families.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

Many countries have seen an increase in the tendency over the past ten years of people spending the most of their lives away from their family in remote areas. The article will analyse the possible causes of this incident and its unavoidable effects on people and their close relatives.

Studies and hopes for the future serve as the two key justifications. Since these colleges provide flexible and advanced programmes that are not available to students living in their native countries, the young generation from developing nations is choosing to attend them.

For instance, people often spend a lot of time away from their family studying abroad after graduation since it takes up a lot of their time. Additionally, in order to increase their chances of finding work, experienced individuals frequently relocate to far-off locations. Periodically, they receive financially rewarding offers. Such possibilities might only come along once in a person's lifetime. These are the causes behind why they relocate to far-off countries where they spend the most of the year.

There are some significant consequences notwithstanding the benefits. To begin with, it might be difficult for both parents and the child to send him or her abroad for further education.

Due to their inability to give their child the psychological and emotional care that he or she might need while living in a far-off location, they will continue to feel anxious. Second, if a person is married and working across the nation, he will not be able to help his child acquire important life skills such as social, emotional, cognitive, and moral development while they are still young. As a result, kids will struggle in the future with the wide range of behavioural tendencies.
People, for reasonable personal reasons, have spent the most of their lives apart from their family. The change, though, is putting both of their minds under stress.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

In today's society, many people find themselves spending less time with their families. Previously, such incidents were restricted to a few locations, but now, residents throughout the globe are experiencing something similar. Although some may see the situation as a necessary sacrifice, there are repercussions.

One explanation for this is that rising living standards are forcing breadwinners to look for greater possibilities away from home. On a domestic level, this may entail working in a neighbouring town or metropolis during the week and returning home on weekends. However, in certain cases, their desire for better pastures necessitates them working overseas for months or years. The encouragement of independence by society is another factor for this trend. Nowadays, being able to live independently is considered mature and successful. As a result, many teenagers leave home early to study in distant places. Such freedom may inspire couples to pursue distinct professional paths that keep them apart for long periods of time. Individuals and their families, unfortunately, suffer as a result of such a long separation. Homesickness is a common side effect of being away from home, and it can lead to melancholy. If these individuals do not heal fast, their careers or education are frequently harmed, leading to even more issues - a vicious cycle. In terms of their families, despite the availability of communication technologies, long separations tend to damage family connections. Children frequently do not experience their absentee parent's affection, which can lead to bitterness. Marital infidelity and divorce are common because couples' relationships are particularly stressed.

To summarise, this tendency of living apart is progressively becoming the norm due to the common desire to care for the family and attain personal achievement. Families should explore alternative methods to earn or guarantee that meaningful contact between members is maintained if strong family connections are to be preserved.

Band 6 IELTS Essay

Individuals are increasingly spending time away from their families, which I feel is a result of their demanding work life. This trend, in my opinion, has severe consequences for both individuals and their families.

People are spending more time away from their families as a result of the increased workload brought on by globalisation. Work life has gotten more demanding as more companies have gone global. To achieve outcomes at their professions, many employees are forced to work extra, travel internationally, and even work from home on a regular basis. Employees at global corporations such as Amazon and Facebook, for example, travel to other countries to meet their overseas clients and manage international operations, which takes them away from their families for lengthy periods of time on a regular basis.

Furthermore, the loss of time spent with family will cause mental and emotional stress to individuals and their families. People who live far away from their family will be without a support system, will feel alienated from their loved ones, and may become unhappy and sad. Similarly, family members would be concerned and worried for the person's well-being at all times. Parents whose children study or work overseas, for example, are concerned about their children's eating habits, standard of living, hygiene, and illness, as well as their personal and professional life, among other things, causing constant stress in the parents.

People might develop a variety of ailments as a result of such stress, including high blood pressure, headaches, and even heart issues, all of which have a significant influence on their life. To summarise, people are spending considerably more time away from their families as a result of globalisation and their busy work schedules, a trend that will cause psychological and emotional stress for both.
