In this digitalized era, the way people learn and communicate has been transformed completely. Hence, I support that computer skills should be one of the foundational subjects in the school’s curriculum besides reading, writing, and mathematics.
In today’s working environment computer knowledge is a necessity. Irrespective of their age, candidates – be it students or teachers or doctors or soldiers or designers have to use computer skills to accomplish some of their work. Schools should make sure that students are well versed with at least basic computer skills prerequisite to pursuing a successful career.
This pandemic time has taught us the importance of computers in our lives. Classes and exams shifted from offline to online mode, meetings, doctor’s appointments, parties, and shopping are conducted virtually. Only those who persist in computer skills are thriving right now. Numerous people are gaining knowledge via online courses and distance learning programs. Online certification programs are a big hit among students who wants to enhance their CV. To land themselves a job, even those who didn’t have command over computers have started learning to do so. For example – for a particular job, a person having more computer skills provide an edge over those who don’t have them.
Lastly, our socio-economic lives have changed so much over a decade. Computer skills empowered people to access social media. Social media sites like – Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat, YouTube, Netflix, etc. proved to be solely entertainment methods during the lockdown period. Be it chatting, using Google classroom, blogging, listening to podcasts or music, downloading a movie; our social life is incomplete without the use of computer skills. These skills have made our lives easier and better. Therefore, students should be encouraged to learn computer skills alongside other subjects.
Band 7 IELTS Essay
There has been disagreement regarding the government's acceptance of computer proficiency as the fourth most popular topic in the educational system. In my opinion, this concept is very valid.
The fourth most popular topic that may provide pupils a number of advantages is computer proficiency. Let's start with the fact that this course can help students greatly advance their technological skills. This makes it easier for students to get employment once they graduate from college, particularly in the current economy of digital technology. Huge multinational investment firms have the financial means to compensate highly skilled labourers.
By doing so, the standard of life is raised, and the nation's economy is given a huge boost. Furthermore, having a solid command of computers may aid students in gathering and analysing information swiftly, precisely, and sensibly, which has a positive impact on the standard of their academic work. Despite the fact that this tendency could help the school system flourish.
The good impact that this inclination has on the instructor cannot be overlooked, to say the least. The addition of computer proficiency to the curriculum necessitates a significant shift in the teacher's teaching style from the conventional to the modern, which applies the latest scientific and technology developments and improves education quality.
In conclusion, I think that computer abilities should be regarded as the fourth essential branch of the educational system, in addition to the three acknowledged significant topics of writing, reading, and math. and the government should seriously evaluate this matter.
Band 6.5 IELTS Essay
It may be accurate to say that many school governors have long found the curriculum to be a difficult issue. I completely believe that teaching computer skills would be beneficial, even if they continue to insist that it is vital to teaching the three conventional disciplines of writing, reading, and math.
The main justification for my agreement with this problem is that having computer abilities could be advantageous to society as a whole. The organization's most important attribute is that it has made a significant contribution to the education of the next generation of quality professionals, of which IT engineers and accountants are prominent examples.
If they have in-depth knowledge of computers, it should go without saying that they will become the highly educated workforce that drives economic growth in their nation. Another important justification offered by supporters is that it aids in undergraduates' acquisition of a thorough understanding of the information business. Gaining more experience and abilities as a consequence of their increased knowledge also helps them open the door to greater work prospects. If they do not take into account the increase of computer abilities, there are certain drawbacks, on the other hand. University graduates won't feel at ease and free while preparing curriculum vitae without this competence, which is the first point that has to catch people's attention.
As a result of a lack of soft skills, as demonstrated by hundreds of researchers, students will undoubtedly have trouble finding employment. Last but not least, undergraduates won't offer us much of a chance to be exposed to stuff about the rest of the globe.
