Sample Answer:

The term xenophobia has its orgin from two greek words, “xeno” that means stranger, and “phobos” that means fear or fight. However, it makes sense in today’s date when we define xenophobia being a fear from starngers or foreigners. Xenophobia has rooted its existence form the past generations. I would like to expand this approach of over racism further in this speaking session. Nationalism is rooting globally and is at a steep rise. Many countries around the world are trying to eradicate ethnocentrism in order to promote equality and peace within the borders. Jingoism is nothing but the mindset of individuals that is followed with a negative approach by the individuals. Thus, it is all within the mind, and it is building up the intolerance level of individuals. Moreover, it is also impacting the concepts of national identity, patriotism, democracy and diversity. Bigotry has a major impact on the lives of individuals that are a victim of it and those who are involved in doing it. It impacts negatively on the mindsets of upcoming generations and further leads to a number of consequences. The U.S has made a brave move to eradicate prejudice in its nation. However, In the era of nationalism, the United States is not alone, but it strongly supports nativism. Brexit and other eurosceptic movements in Europe are opposing immigration and globalization, activities that have been supported by the Trump administration. The Chinese government is imprisoning and brainwashing the country's Muslim Uighur minority. Jair Bolsonaro, the president of Brazil, ascended to power by imitating Trump's antics and hate rhetoric. The Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party led India's parliament to enact the very contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance was a watershed moment in the history of global anti-racism activities. The United Nations organized the Durban Conference in 2001 in Durban, South Africa, and it is thus known as the Durban Conference. The Conference was held in South Africa, which had replaced decades of institutionalised racism under apartheid with a new non-racial democracy. As the name implies, a world conference is a gathering that claims to represent global opinion and brings together governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and civil society organizations from all over the world. There is a necessity to organize such events and ensure it is being broadcasted and the common public is witnessing this. Thus, this will help with developing and framing a positive mindset and further ensure that individuals in the long-run contribute to eradicate bigotry. Moreover, this will also lead to a positive impact upon the upcoming future generations as they will be less concerned about the xenophobic nature of individuals.
