Topic: Describe an emotional moment that you felt.
Model Answer:

I was born in a small town that did not have many facilities. As I was growing, so was I witnessing the city grow with me. The house that I lived in was an ancestral property in which three generations already lived. It was then that I got to learn that soon our house would be crushed due to some legal problems. I was stunned and angry to hear that the house where I had been living carefree all these years would be turned into dust. As the day passed, I became more scared of the dreaded night when the house would be demolished. My fear knew no bounds and I had to pacify my mind and come face to face with reality. Finally, when the dreaded day came, I held my mother and had tears in my eyes. It was an extremely emotional moment to watch a bulldozer continuously attacking every wall until it conquered the whole house by compelling it to bow down to the ground. I realised how much cost one has to pay in the name of development. There must have been other houses like mine which have been vanquished and made to disappear from the face of the Earth just because some industry had to be set up. I still revisit that memory in my mind and feel as emotional and helpless as I felt in that moment.

Topic: Write about the futility of wars.

Wars have existed from the time when humankind became power-hungry. Our greed or thirst for power has taken over benevolence and humanity. In the name of expansion, many wars have been led that have vanquished a lot of resources which includes human life. While the wars are initiated by a powerful few, common people are crushed in the process. The consequence of war is the wastage of manpower and resources. In countries, where people struggle to make ends meet, wars bring more misery as huge finances are wasted in the manufacture of weapons. Lands are conquered but the lives are lost- this is the grim reality of wars. People lose their loved ones and their belongings due to the greed of some people who want to dominate the world. The irony of the situation is that the people who wage wars do not suffer a bit. It is the common people who suffer the most as they are subjugated. People who have lived through the wars know how painful and futile wars are. Hence, we should all strive to build a world that pacifies the globe through love, compassion and humanity.
