IELTS Speaking Part 3 Topic

Topic: Are people concerned about environmental problems in your country?Do you believe climate change is a serious problem?

Sample Answer:

Air pollution is a major concern in my country, but people are still carelessly polluting the environment by burning garbage, plastic bags etc. I feel utterly disappointed and unhappy that people are carelessly damaging the environment for their personal interests. Air pollution causes severe health issues. The exceeding number of people suffering from health issues is a great woe in my country. People are cognizant about the impact of air pollution, but are still relentlessly damaging the earth and impacting the environment to no extent. Only a fraction of people are taking the right steps for saving the environment, but the effort is of no use, if the fraction of people damaging the environment is more.

I believe climate change is a serious problem. Not in my country, but the world is suffering from the perils of climate change. The climatic changes have not only impacted humans but are also destroying the environment and especially has caused a great deal of misery to the flora and fauna around us. The climatic changes are also causing distress to humans/animals as the number of typhoons, earthquakes, tsunamis are also subsequently increasing. Thus, I think climate change is a serious issue, it needs to be carefully monitored and accordingly an action plan needs to be initiated.

Topic: Describe something you would like to change in your lifestyle

Sample Answer:

The one thing that has caused great distress in my life would be the lack of proper routine and inability to follow a healthy diet. Why it has been a woe, because it led me to gain 13 kgs within 6 months. I am not at a healthy weight and it has also caused some serious health issues like thyroid problems, depression, anxiety and so on. I was a morning person, but as I gained weight and was depressed I couldn't wake up early. It is affecting my studies and I am also lagging behind my goals. I lost my job, lost some of my friends as they weren't able to tolerate my despair. My family encourages and advises me to lose some weight, which would further help me gain self-confidence, overcome my depression and also improve my sleep patterns. I owe a heartfelt gratitude to them for being a strong support system. I have now slowly started exercising and eating healthy. I desperately want to change my routine and adopt a healthy lifestyle for a lifetime. It is this thing that can help me overcome my sorrow and put me back towards the goals that I wish to achieve in life.
