Topic: Write about an argument two of your friends had.

Sample Answer:

It is very common to notice an argument when two people do not share the same opinion and mostly in the argument, people often get aggressively candid about what they think and feel but most of the time the words are just spoken in the spur of the moment. One such episode happened when my friends and I were working on a group project in college. The project required us to record the slums of Delhi and prepare an honest report about the condition of people residing in that area. We decided to divide the responsibility and everyone agreed on that part. We decided that two of the people will work on the script for the video recording while the other two would go and visit the slums and one of them would take care of the camera and the other would interview the people. The argument started when none of us could decide who wanted which responsibility. While one of us was good at cinematography, she wanted to go for scriptwriting and the other wanted to take the script as he knew he was good at it, but he was offered camera work. He had to be open about how he felt about being allotted a task that was not as interesting as the one he wanted. While he was trying to convey his point calmly, the other one lost her temper and soon the argument escalated into a blunt fight for the task. I had to intervene and requested them to stop the argument as it would have just delayed our project. I suggested they switch roles for the second video as we had to cover two slums of the city. Once the fierce argument was over, both of my friends realised their mistake and conveyed a sincere apology to one another. I was scared the argument might have affected their friendship but later everything was resolved and they both still are friends to each other. Despite everything, we scored the highest marks in the project and we all celebrated and laughed about the whole situation.

Try to use the word “Candid” in your speaking

Topic: Describe a product you bought that disappointed you.

Sample Answer:

Recently I bought a coffee maker online after reading its positive reviews. The website was new but I was wise enough to refer to youtube for honest reviews. After purchasing, it worked well for three days and after that, it stopped functioning altogether. I called the customer care number and conveyed my grievance candidly. They promised to replace the faulty product with a new one. I was doubtful if they would but after a week my new product was sitting on my kitchen shelf and when I tested it, it worked fine for four days and then again the same problem persisted. I was extremely disappointed as I am a coffee person and beating coffee takes a lot of effort and I always run short of time. I bluntly spoke to customer care executives and lost my temper after hearing that they do not refund the policy. I had no choice but to write openly about how the company was looting its customers as the price of the product was INR 10,000 which was a huge amount for me. After a few days, I noticed the website was put down and there was no sign of any order placed. I couldn’t have let the matter go and so I filed a complaint in the consumer court and took immediate legal help. With the right guidance and sincere efforts by the team of lawyers, I managed to get down my refund. I now don’t even trust these influencers who promote or review products on various channels. They give a paid review and most of them mislead their viewers. My experience with the product was disappointing and daunting and now I don’t think I will buy anything from lesser-known websites.
