Topic: Describe what/who inspires you in your life

Sample Answer:

I have always been a creative person and have loved the various activities that I have endured in order to explore different fields of creativity. Since childhood I have been the most fond of art and painting because of which my parents sent me to art school as well. I was a fast learner which made me learn drawing and painting quite fast. I went to an art exhibition once and was extremely awestruck by some of the painters. One of them was obviously that of M.F. Hussain, one of the greatest painters of the world. I have admired his works for a long time and he has been my muse for years. One of the greatest inspirations that I derive for my art is from my mother as well because of her beautiful paintings that are hung at our home. From painting the image of a Buddha to that of our family picture, her dedication towards her work stimulates my passion for art. I derive my stimulus for painting mostly historical images, monuments and pictures mainly from the historical times, especially from Ancient and Medieval India, from the Greek Mythologies and even Indian Gods and Goddesses. I constantly ponder about intermixing different colors and exploring to find new ones to use in my paintings. Further, I try to muse different pictures that I might combine and ensure that it tells a story. My constant trail remains to make sure that people are able to understand and evaluate the story that I try to express through my paintings. I once took part in a competition of painting which was inter-district and the best ten paintings were to be sent to state level exhibition. After a lot of contemplation and research, I considered telling the story of Draupadi from the Indian Epic Mahabharata through my painting. When the judges examined all the paintings, they considered my painting to be the best of all and it was one of the paintings to be hung at the state exhibition.

Topic: Describe the time you were involved in a social work

Sample Answer:

My mother has been part different NGOs in my city which relates with helping and supporting the orphans and some of them are for helping women who have been faced with sexual or domestic abuse. From providing them with food, clothing and shelter to helping them grow in their life, my mother has been an extremely active participant in these NGOs. I have taken inspiration from her to help people in need, whether children or adults or even the aged. My mother has been a muse for many people in the town we live in and helped people in enhancing and bettering their lives by educating themselves, working and being financially independent. Considering that I am fond of animals, I have an extremely soft corner for them. I am usually quite annoyed when people tease or kick animals on the street as I feel it’s extremely inhuman to treat the innocent in that way. My mother’s social work towards people stimulated me to work or do something for the poor animals whether domesticated or not. With my mother being my best muse, she supported me completely with my idea and helped me set up a small NGO, collect funding and even started to help these animals including dogs and cats on the streets. Moreover, my friends considered it to be an extremely honest initiative that has been a stimulus for my actions throughout. I constantly ponder about how to make people aware of my initiative and ensure that they are able to find help from me and my mother whenever they need it. My mother and I have contemplated starting a digital page in Instagram and facebook to make people aware regarding the initiative. My mother has also spoken with a few vets who would be interested in working with us to provide their services through our NGO for the sick and injured animals. I make sure before helping an animal I examine myself or through a doctor about any disease it might have or any kind of injury or issue it faces so that appropriate help could be provided to the innocent animal.
