Topic: Describe a time when you were disappointed
Model Answer

I wouldn’t say I am the kind of person that gets disappointed very easily. However, I do become intolerant when people are dishonest, and belittle or undervalue me, just to be vicious. A couple of years ago I had a good friend named Neha. We were working in the same team in one of the reputed MNCs. It so happened that our manager wanted to send me to the USA to meet with the clients and work from the US offices. In a week my manager was to announce my name to make it official to the team that I will be working from the US offices for a year. I was so excited about the news that I immediately shared it with my friend. She was excited to hear it too. The week of the announcement however, to the amazement of my manager there was no news of this update. I was restless, thus, I got in touch with my manager. On discussing this my manager informed me that a team member of mine had been calumnulating me in front of him. They had downgraded my saying that I do no work whatsoever and only pawn it off on others. I was shocked when I heard it. When I inquired further as to who this person was, unfortunately, it was the same person who pretended to be a friend. I confronted the person and she accepted. I immediately dismissed our friendship as I was deeply hurt by her behaviour.. It was disappointing to know how she ridiculed me in front of the manager. Anyhow, everything was sorted in the end and I worked from the US offices. It was, however, disappointing to lose a good friend.

Topic: Write about a situation that made you feel uncomfortable
Model Answer

I usually find a way to get out of uncomfortable situations. I am also of the opinion that one should face the fears and be in uncomfortable situations as it makes us a better person. Also I don't like it when I am mocked or underestimated as I am a sensitive person. This particular incident happened about a year ago when I was a university student.
I am a bibliophile so I borrowed a lot of books from the library. Once I borrowed a book on world history, but as I was fascinated by the wonderful pictures and the historical developments I kept extending the return date of the book. I was fond of the book and carried it everywhere. Once I left the book on the bus. It was utter carelessness on my part. On the day I had to finally return the book, I felt anxious, and nervous to inform the librarian about the mishap.
I finally mustered up the courage and told him about how I had lost the book. The librarian started yelling at me and deprecated me. He was utterly harsh and made some diminishing comments about me, which I really didn't understand as this had happened the first time.
It was somewhat embarrassing for me as he was yelling at me in front of the other students. I told him that I would buy the same new book. He again ridiculed and reprimanded me. I was annoyed at first but then apologised to him. Moreover, it was my own fault that I was admonished to this extent.
