Appearances can be misleading. Elaborate

Sample Answer:

Often people use the proverb, “ first impression is the last impression” which can be considered true on many occasions. However, I feel that first impressions cannot always prove to be true or important. A person might be beguiling in his/her appearances only to find their way to progress or succeed in an act or activity. People appearing for their job interviews might use deceptive ways to get a job in which they have quite little idea or their confidence may not be as good as they portrayed during their interview. People have the ability to charm others in order to get their work done or to impress others. However, the fact that the first impression could be the last impression can be misleading in many cases. For instance, one of my closest friends from college, who I had the impression of being an arrogant girl with an immense attitude, turned out to be one of my best friends because of her humble and kind nature. She definitely has the ability to enchant others with her intelligence which certainly is not misleading. However, I have been friends with people who have shown immense love and kindness towards me but only to deceive me for getting their own works done. However, in the most honest way, I was bewitched when I found that the group of friends that I have from college have arranged a small gathering for me when I was sick. In another instance, I was mesmerized by the gesture of a friend of mine to give me the Harry Potter Book series which really made me happy. These are the friends who I was not dazzled by in first impressions but became closer with time when we all got to know each other. I can provide another instance, where a boy once tried to lure me with his good looks only to get his homeworks done during school days. However, I was warned by my friend about not being carried away by his beguiling behavior which made me stay away from him and tried maintaining a formal relationship.

Topic: Describe a time when a salesman tried selling you expensive product

Sample Answer:

I have always loved to go shopping whether it is shopping for clothes or going down to the supermarket to buy groceries. What I love about shopping is the marketplace where I get to choose from a different range of products and choose them myself without having to entirely depend on one person to bring me my requirements. However, one of the most annoying parts is when the salespersons in the supermarket try to deceive people including me to buy products we are not willing to spend on. I have faced this issue a number of times in a supermarket where I go to shop for household groceries and other items and salespeople try to enchant their way to sell products. Last week when I went grocery shopping there was this one salesman who was really young and I noticed that he was new in the department because it was where I always went to shop. While I was shopping for snacks, he came up to me with his charming gesture to sell me a packet of nuts. Although I knew he was there to mislead me from buying my own requirements, his beguiling gesture did not let me ignore him. I did taste the mesmerizing packet of nuts which included an amalgamation of different nuts from cashew nuts to peanuts and others. I was dazzled by the fact that one packet can include different kinds of nuts and can be so fresh. However, I was clearly misled by the salesperson considering that I had a budget to make my purchase necessary at my home and instead I was lured by the charm of the salesperson to buy the packet of assorted nuts. Despite being bewitched by the packet of assorted nuts which I really loved, I clearly decided not to purchase it as one 100gms pack of the product costs Rs. 500 which I considered not spending on the nuts and rather buying other things that I needed.
