We all love to receive gifts. Gifts show that a person cares or is being cared for by someone. Recently, my Team Leader was leaving the company as he got a better job. We decided to give him some of our memories on this auspicious occasion. The whole team came together for a discussion. We discussed and decided that on his last working day, we will bring cakes and we will make a collage of various team photos. Once the collage is made, we will laminate the collage and provide it in a giant photo frame and gift it to my team leader. We decided on this gift as it will have our memories and the times we spent together. It will also be encouraging for him that we will be there with him always. My Team lead is a person who likes to have fun with his team. His team is like his family and everyone shares a personal bond. We have gone on trips with the whole team, enjoyed lunch and dinner together. Needless to say that we also clicked beautiful photos on these promising occasions. Hence, we collected them and made a collage. My team lead was unaware of the fact that we had arranged cakes and gifts for him. On the last working day, he came to the office and was surprised to see that his cabin was decorated. We were all waiting eagerly for him to unwrap the gift. Once he saw the gift, he broke down to tears. It was a very emotional moment for the whole team. We knew that we were going to miss him. He also knew that he would miss his team who became a family. After he saw the gift, he thanked everyone. We cut the cake and it was a fun day. However, at the end of office, we decided that we will have dinner together. We went for dinner and my TL thanked everyone for the special gift which contained all our memories. We also wished him best of luck for his future and auspicious life ahead. He said that he will be hanging this in his study. We were sad because he was leaving but we decided to keep in touch.

The world is going digital due to the arrival of the pandemic. In this time of crisis, a question lurks in the minds of people which is whether reading can still be done in paper books or we can go digital. There are advantages and disadvantages for going digital as well as for using paper books. Paper books are a promising source of reading used by a maximum number of people. They are used by students, old people and readers. Paper books carry a value of their own. Some people find paper books favourable as they are good and interesting to study. They can feel the presence of the book, touch and feel the book whereas in digital books, we do not get the feeling of reading a book. Some people also give books while praying to the goddess of learning and art, Sarasvati. This is an auspicious occasion where books are used. These are the advantages of paper books but there are disadvantages also. You need to go and purchase the book from the market which is not possible during a pandemic. All the books are not available in paper book form to buy. The paper books are hard to maintain. To overcome these disadvantages, digital books came along. They can be found over the net and you just need a mobile or a digital device with an internet connection. People can buy books online and read them online. They do not need to carry physical books with them. Online books carry some disadvantages of their own. Reading for a long time might affect the eyes and also cause physical problems. Sometimes online books are not accessible due to issues with the internet. We don't have these issues with paper books. Paper books can be an encouraging gift for someone who loves to read. Different people share different opinions on using paper books and ebooks. However, as per my opinion ebooks are easy to carry and easily accessible. They might affect in the long run but won't affect instantly. Hence, in this generation where everything is going online, e-books have the upper hand in terms of readers.
