Bags Speaking Part 1 is a topic in IELTS speaking. Questions in speaking part 1 are from general topics. In this Bags speaking part 1 topic, general questions such as do you like bags, what type of bags do you like, do you usually carry a bag, what do you put in the bag and what bags do women prefer are required to be answered.

Topic – Bags Speaking Part 1

Question 1. Are you fond of bags?

Answer: Yes, I’m fond of bags. Bags are a necessity for any given age group as they provide ample amount of space to carry stuffs safely. The use of bags is a priority when people are travelling. Bags are available in several different sizes are named accordinly, such as, wallets, suitcases, etc. These have become an integral part of our life. 

Vocabulary: 

  • priority – to be of high importance 
  • Wallets – small bags/pouches to keep your money safe
  • integral – crucial or important

Question 2. What are the types of bags preferred by you?

Answer: For daily usage, I prefer to have wallets. Backpacks can be addressed to be the second priortised item in the lists of daily necessities. I choose those bags that have major utitlities and allow us with huge amount of space. In addition to that, I’m fond of totes that are fashionable and spacious at the same time. 

Question 3. How regularly do you carry a bag?

Answer: We all use bags almost every day in the form of wallets, school bags, office kits etc. Wherever I go, I always a have bag on my shoulder as it allows me to carrying a number of things that I utilise on a daily basis. majorly, during meetings, I get benefitted as they allow me to carry important papers, documents, and several other things. 

Question 4. Do your bags fall under different categories of occasions??

Answer: Not really. Yes, I do have to categorize according to my fondness, but that has nothing to do with the occasions. One thing is for sure I am not going to carry my backpack to a wedding, or a briefcase to a picnic. But using the word categorization for such general differences would be a little too much. To simplify it, my bags have broad categorizations.

Vocabulary :

  • Fondness – liking attitude towards something
  • Little too much – exaggeration; more than necessary

Question 5. What are the general features liked by women while choosing a bag?

Answer: Women look for several features in a bag. They look for straps, space, aesthetics, and several other features. Every feature is important for them, and compromising is not an option. Price is also a factor but most women consider the space and colour, along with the current trend.

Vocabulary :

  • Strap – something to carry the bag around
  • aesthetics – beauty; look
  • compromising – accepting lesser than what is demanded

Question 6. What is your say about unisex bags?

Answer: They can be of huge potential in the coming times, but I don’t think that society is ready for such bags at this point in time. Unisex bags are way ahead of their time.

Vocabulary :

  • potential – power; something that can be harnessed in a huge amount
  • ahead of its time – something that is ahead of society’s readiness
