In what sort of school did you receive your education as a child?

From pre-school till 6th grade, I have studied in a co-educational public school that was in close proximity to my house and was one of the most sought-after schools in my city.

According to you, how much difference is there in the part played by a teacher and that of a parent in a child’s education?

In my opinion, the role of a parent in a child’s education begins at a genetic stage itself, and afterward in the way the child is brought up. Interpersonal behavior, basic etiquettes, and moral values to the child are some of the crucial aspects of parental teaching. Whereas, I believe that teachers establish the building blocks of a child’s mind by imparting significant knowledge which improves their thought-processing and decision-making skills. It is a blend of both parental and pedagogical teaching which allows holistic psycho-social development of a child.

How do you think the priorities of contemporary educational institutions different from those in the past?

In this rapidly expanding fast-paced global society, the priorities of our education institutions have evolved and for good. In recent times, educational institutions have increased the scope of future opportunities by offering a much extensive skill set. For example, thanks to modern technological innovations like virtual reality and artificial intelligence, schools, colleges, and universities have broadened their educational policies led to the opening up of new research-based job sectors.

What do you believe is the best way to educate a child?

I strongly believe that teachers and parents should encourage children to undergo multi-faceted growth by focusing not only on academic studies but also actively participating in extra-curricular activities such as sports, the arts, and other related interests.

How can we help children to unfold their hidden potential?

We must consciously strive to expose a child to a wide variety of school and college-level courses of studies and other co-curricular activities before they can actually come to realize what they are interested in. Subsequently, when they assure themselves that they hold a flair for a certain talent, they must be encouraged and trained to transform that hidden potential into a career prospect.
