The book has been co-jointly written by Sam McCarter and Judith Ash.
McCarter is a lecturer in academic and medical Medical English at Southwark College. He also organizes IELTS courses for overseas doctors and other health personnel. He also organizes courses in medical English which includes preparation for the OSCE component of the PLAB.
He is also the creator and organizer of the Nuffield Self-access Language Project for Overseas Doctors. He also consults in medical English as a part-time thing, which specializes in tropical medicine.
This book is co-authored by Judith Ash who is also a lecturer in academic and medical English at Southwark College. She is now a freelance writer and is also working on distance learning programs for IELTS and a series of IELTS preparation books.
This book is for students preparing for IELTS. It contains ten practice IELTS Reading Tests and a Key. Each test contains three reading passages, has a very large range of topics, and acts as a lot of practice for the range and types of questions that come in the IELTS exams.
The 10 IELTS Practice Papers are of the same difficulty and easy level. They are only designed to provide enough practice to a student before they go out to appear for the final exam. The level of difficulty of the passages might keep increasing in the same paper; however, the format and assessment level of different reading papers is almost kept the same.
