Topic: Too much emphasis is placed on testing these days. The need to prepare for tests and examinations is a restriction on teachers and also exerts unnecessary pressure on young learners.
Band 6.5 IELTS Essay
In today's world, the main requirement is to clear the distinctive education levels by clearing several examinations, tests, practicals, and what not the system implies. The impacts of what comes up through this lie deeper in terms of the restriction on teachers, faculties, and more prominently on the young aspirants. I completely agree that the educational system creates unnecessary havoc for the tests and examinations they conduct, which are most of the time of an hour merely.
Firstly, young learners are given the teachers' relevant stage academics depending on their class and the age criteria. These academics delivered are bound to a certain extent by the higher authorities with the term education system. For instance, in a particular class of students of similar age are delivered a certain context of academics until they pass, which is often referred to as syllabus. On the other hand, the teachers are instructed to deliver specific content around the year to the students of a particular class. As a result of this, teachers are restricted to convert similar and identical academics whereby students are prepared to learn to pass the class they are in at that moment. For example, a student in fifth grade has five subjects and ten chapters per subject. If he/she learns and remembers that content, the structured examination can easily be cleared as the teacher's responsibility is to deliver five subjects and ten chapters merely. The mental pressure on the children is quite heavy and the impact is not just on the brain of the child but also affects them physically. Many children even fall sick or might even be faced with immense issue of blackouts durin exam where either they faint or forget entirely about what they learnt. Thus, I completely disagree with such kinds of restrictive tests wich hinders the wellbeing and health of children.
Band 7.5 IELTS Essay
It is true that education pattern has changed a lot from the past and more emphasis is nowadays given on the tests in the class these days. Students are required to prepare rigorously for their exams while the teachers are restricted to teach certain syllabus from the curriculum that can be used for the purpose of exams by the students. This has also been creating pressures on a massive levels for the students. They need to study the entire syllabus to answer different set of questions. Teachers need to ensure that they do not teach anything more or less than what is supposed to appear in the exam. They are restricted in terms of providing any external knowledge on a topic hence, affecting their ability to teach with greater interest of the students.
Focusing on the younger learners, concerning their age criteria, they are not even bothered as the teachers' instructions are to pass the monthly tests and yearly examinations. This current education system scenario has created much pressure as learners are just children with passing exam instructions. Align with it, the exam pressure which is experienced some weeks before from teachers, parents, and the exam time table. Passing about an hour of examinations seems to be the only goal a young learner needs to achieve while learning, exploring, and dreams are all kept aside. Sometimes, this may create an uncommon situation with mental effects that are not always positive. For instance, a student in tenth grade has examinations after a week or a month. This is the most prominent period, and here the exam pressure is felt from all the ways like school, teachers, parents, and the long drafted syllabus to mug up for clearing all the subjects. In conclusion, the current education system needs to be modified to eliminate factors like academic delivery restriction on teachers and exam pressure on young learners. As per my suggestions and beliefs, learners should be exposed to fulfill their dreams, and relevant guidance apart from the lengthy syllabus must be provided.
Band 8.5 IELTS Essay
Eductaion is one of the most important part of people’s lives. It has become important that eductaional certificates are carried out with immense security to ensure that it is a proof of excellence for the students. However, this has regulated the pattern of education and a system that is emphasising more on testing pattern education rather than pure education. People think that tests make students learn better and gain more knowledge which is definite true as it helps in understanding how a child needs to improve their academic knowledge.
However, it is nowadays treated as a demarcation of successful academic life. Teachers are restricted to teac certain topics and areas of academic which would be asked in the questions while taking up their tests and leaving out rest of the sections. They are restricted to make stduents study only selective areas and not provide any additional knowledge. While this significantly hampers a child’s knowledge expanse but also restricts a teacher to provide knowledge to its students.
On the other hand, the testing pattern puts on a lot of pressures on the children. Students not only compete in order to rank higher but they also are under pressure to fulfil their parents’ and families’ expectations. This induces them to stdy for longer hours, have lesser leisure time and involevement in cocurricular activities and hampers their cognitive developmemt. The mental pressures often results in physical weaknesses and affects their growth and stability as person. Students find it extremely difficult to cope with different topics while their doubts remain unclear and knowledge restructive. This affects them for their future development where they cannot find themselves to be efficient in larger space of competition where many find themselves to be restricted with limited knowledge. Thus, I completely disagree with this type of education which restricts the growth of both teacher and the students equally.
