In the above-given diagram, the table shows the global market share of the mobile manufacturing companies in the years 2005 and 2006. It can be seen that Nokia had the highest global market share in both years. It is also evident that the market share of companies like Nokia, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson had increased in 2006, as compared to the share of 2005.
Nokia had the largest market share in 2005 which is almost one-third of the total. Their market share increased from 32.5% to 35% which accounted for a 2.5% increase in 2006. Then comes Motorola company, which had the second-highest market share. In 2005, Motorola comprised 17.7% of the market share, which then increased by 4% in the year 2006. Samsung was able to maintain the rank of being the third-largest market share in the global mobile manufacturing list. In 2005, Samsung's market share was 12.7% 2005. It suffered a reduction in the market share in 2006 by 0.11% and its market share came down to 11.8% in 2006.
The cell phone manufacturing companies like Sony Ericsson, LG, have a market share of around 6% in 2005. Both were successful in maintaining their rank in the two years. Although the share of Sony Ericsson had increased by 0.11% that is from 6.3% in 2005 to 7.4% in 2006. But the share of LG had decreased by 0.4% that is in 2005, the market share of LG was 6.7%, which decreased to 6.3% in 2006. The market share of companies like BenQ Mobile and others also had a drastic fall from 2005 to 2006.

The above table gives the global market share of the leading cell phone brands in 2005 and 2006. It is well understood, that the company Nokia had the largest market share in both the years in 2005 and 2006. And the company BenQ Mobile had the lowest global market share of cell phones.
Nokia is the leading market share company had almost one-third of the total market share in both the years that is in 2005 as well as 2006. Not only this, but Nokia had also increased its market share by 2.5% in 2006. The second leading company was Motorola, whose global market share had increased from 17.7% to 21.1%. Samsung’s share was close to one-tenth of the total global market share, but that declined in 2006 from 12.7% to 11.8%. However, it was possible by Sony Ericsson to maintain their rank at fourth in both the years, with a slight increase at 7.4% in 2006. Furthermore, there had been a decline of less than 1%, in the global market share of LG and Samsung in 2006. And all the other companies of global cell phone contributed 19.2% of its share in 2005, but this share was reduced by 3% in 2006
The fall in BenQ’s share was the highest that is 4.9% to 2.4%. This fall was more than the increase in the market share of the leading companies of Nokia and Motorola. The market share of other companies also reduced from 19.2% to 16.2%.
Band 6.5 Answer
This table gives the detail of the market share of the mobile phone manufacturing for the two consecutive years 2005 ad 2006. Nokia was leading in both the years, selling 32% of all the mobile phones which accounted for one-third of the total share. Its share further increased by 3% in 2006, which came to be 35%. Nokia was followed by its two competitors, Motorola and Samsung.
Motorola had its global market share enhanced in 2006 from 17.7% to 21.1%. But on a contrary, Samsung suffered from a loss in its global mobile market share, that is, its share decreased from 12.7% in 2005 to 11.8% in 2006. Although being among the lowest shareholders of the global market share, Sony Ericsson says an increase in its share from 6.3% in 2005 to 7.4% in 2006. Whereas LG and Ben Q also being among the lowest shareholders, experienced a fall in their share. LG saw a downfall from 6.7% in 2005 to 6.3% in 2006 and BenQ’s mobile market share was 4.9% in 2005, which decreased to half to 2.4% in 2006.
The market share of other mobile phone companies accounted for 19.2% of the total market share in 2005, which was relatively more than companies like LG, BenQ, Sony Ericsson. The market share of other companies decreased by over 3% in 2006 and came to 16.2% of the total share of mobile phones.
Thus we can see that there had been an increase in the market share of global mobile phone companies like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson. Samsung had accounted for one-tenth percent of the total market share of mobile phones in 2005. Mobile phone companies like LG, BenQ, and others had experienced a fall in their market share in 2006. The fall in BenQ was the highest, as it decreased by almost half.
